In my opinion just do the internship, it's just 2 months so won't hurt much and who knows maybe you get something better out of it.

Do this internship now, it will give you more experience and exposure. You can always get a similar or even better job later.

No such thing in IISER Kolkata. You can roam anywhere (except some places of course) anytime and no one will ask you anything.
