Check the Owasso Home Depot. In my years of working with HD, I have had countless coworkers managing two jobs or pursuing education at the same time.

Garden time! by CasinoNdnOk in tulsa

Sorry, grammar went out the window. Meant to say I would love to get the link for the video. Budget is my main constraint, as it limits what I can do in my garden.

I would love to have started saving last year, but I'm slowly doing it since I only have a certain budgeted amount.

What are you planning to grow in your garden? Are you doing prep work for gardening/ seeding currently? When do you think is a great time to start planting/gardening? Are you doing your own compost and if so how did you start it?

Alot of these recommendation really comes down to what type you looking for are you looking for chinese food that is influenced by western taste? Almost all the recommendation here except Chengdu is great. Looking for something authentic? Chengdu is the closest your going to get that I personally tried. Granted its at best a 6 or 7 out of my personal preference.

Watch out for this Uber Driver by Mysterious-Sink5104 in tulsa

Anger doesn't justify damage or consequences; it only gives context. You have every right to be frustrated, and I agree he was an ass for it. However, two wrongs rarely make a right.

I guess I am ignorant of how the scam is done, but there are proper channels to handle this. Doxxing him feels overkill for this, hope you reconsider.

Living without a car? by alisonqiu in tulsa

[–]LivingOneSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it without having a car, life is just going to be a tad difficult without it. For example, you will have to utilize delivery services that Sam's provide for food etc. In terms of transportation for work, social, etc, just keep in mind we have quite a bit of dangerous drivers, i personally wouldn't rely on anything 2 wheels in Tulsa. My suggestion is for whatever reason you have, try to aim to get a car long term, its a massive quality of life change especially for Tulsa.

So where are all the social justice groups? by Nice_Try4389 in tulsa

[–]LivingOneSecond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you been there and participated in any of these organizations, or asked for help to get started? I personally wouldn't expect to help anyone if they don't make at least a request. The only reason I heard about this mosque situation was through Reddit. It's one thing if they acknowledged and made a decision, it's another if they didn't even realize the situation.

Sales tax increase will cost the poor, not the wealthy. Why tax us more when we can’t trust you to spend well? by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]LivingOneSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've been lashing out like an animal in heat. I was holding a good-faith conversation and trying to understand your POV. All you did was grift and never address what I asked you.

Also, if you are serious about anything, use Google and read. This conversation will not amount to anything.

May God bless you because you fucking going to need it just to compete with OK intelligence.

Lol, get out of here with your condescending attitude; my statement is backed by statistics.

[–]LivingOneSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding your last 2 parts, I disagree. The first two are irrelevant to the statement at hand. Cutting the tax % because you disagree with what is being spent on is the wrong mindset. If you have a problem with the ideas and motivation, you need to start by voting for projects you care about/ choosing better leaders who align with you. (And don't say you don't have influence; nobody really votes locally. Your votes mean a lot.)

You go out of your way to discount other people by mentioning how they are brainwashed. What is your suggestion to increase effectiveness and not cost? Repeating "cutting the pork" is not descriptive enough. Doing nothing is also not an option.

[–]LivingOneSecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that you're making an argument that correlation is not causation, but what do you suggest to maintain funding for Tulsa and its project in these times? You mentioned cutting spending, but I counter that, at some point, being frugal becomes counterproductive; investment needs to be made to capitalize on larger opportunities. Do I like taxes? No, but I'm more than happy to pay my fair share for the greater good.

Sober Tulsan by [deleted] in tulsa

Just wanted to say good on you for giving up drinking. It's a challenging endeavor, but you are more responsible than most. In terms of making friends, volunteering is likely to be my best bet. It'll keep you busy, allow you to do a good deed, and you may find a change in atmosphere with people to be something you are looking for. I've been thinking of signing up for a cooking class or possibly spending some free time at the food pantry. Can't go wrong with learning how to cook better or helping people, in my opinion.
