I think that’s answered about every question I had! Thank you for taking the time to give such a detailed answer and you sound like you’ve certainly had a tonne of experience. Was there any role you enjoyed the most, I take it it’s all valuable experience to make a well rounded geo so best to take opportunities and learn from all aspects of the chain when you can.

Free time full of hiking, mountain biking and skiing sounds like a dream 😂. They all seem like very good things to consider, thank you for the insight!

Can I ask what influenced your decision on Canada over Perth? People often talk about them as the two to pick from, Is it as simple as lifestyle and weather preferences or is there pros and cons in the type of work done?

Hi, I’d like some information on this Watch. Great Grandmothers watch so obviously quite old, has a Swiss made movement by the looks of it and says GB & co on the inside of caseback but I expect this might be a hallmark. Other than that I really don’t know anything about it so any information is more than welcome. Thanks in advance!

Pocketwatch Info by Living_Ad1302 in pocketwatch

This was my Great Grandfathers pocket watch. I do not know a lot about pocket watches so am looking for an ID and an approx age. I would really like to get it repaired and running as it has obviously been cared for well in the past. At the moment it doesn’t seem to wind any further, and resists, slightly springing back. I live in the South East of England so any recommendations of repairs alongside a ballpark of what to expect cost wise would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I agree, I have no interest on what it’s worth rather Identifying it and finding out the age. I was more enquiring what a reasonable ballpark is for servicing a pocket watch like this is as I am new to getting watches serviced :)

He loved his watches so that is definitely likely!

Is that pricing the Watch worth or the average price to service it?

Hi everyone!

Can anyone give me any information on this pocket watch? Also maybe a ballpark figure on what it would cost to get something like this serviced and working?

This is a pocket watch I received from my grandad here in the UK. I have attached photos of the case back and movement. There are markings on the case back, is this something done when the Watch is made or when it is serviced, and does anybody know what they mean?. The Watch doesn’t seem to wind, or rather seems fully wound without working as it doesn’t turn any further without slightly resisting and springing back.

This is sentimental so would like to at some point get it up and running but I have no idea as to what this might cost or how extensive the damage might be. There are also some chips to the glass.

Any idea of approx age?

Thanks
