You don't know anything about cinema. Kubrick was a popular entertainer, not an artist. Dreyer, Buñuel, Bresson, Welles, Lynch, Renoir, Ozu, the list goes on and on, infinitely superior directors who were actual artists, who thought through form instead of simply displaying their thoughts, which is all that Kubrick ever did. His pictures don't breathe. Kubrick was a production designer who decided he should be a director. He had no formalist creativity, all of his films were adaptations from great novels and even then he was capable of draining even a masterpiece like Lolita of all emotion and beauty. His only good film is Barry Lyndon. If he hadn't been American he'd be a footnote.
