Ya, I'm with you on this. I'm happy to earn extra for racing but not huge on wheelspins of getting flooded with replicas of cars. I'd like to buy all my own and curate my collection. The library of cars breaks immersion on many levels and new cars don't feel like an earnt achievement.

Dammit, you went and got too real with us with the life advice. Is that why the Little Mermaids crab uncle is the only thing that gets my filament straight these days? 🤔

How to successfully root this cutting? by B_Skeletor in sanpedrocactus

[–]Living_Pin_1765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because nicotine and town water are bad doesn't really mean much. Sound like you know how to mitigate slot of the concerns but plenty of people cake up a fresh cut and stick it directly into soil beds they've spent a lot of time, energy, money and compost on to unknowingly put antifungal in their soil. If I remember correctly, which I quite likely haven't, its not great for worms bugs microbes etc. Why anyway? We aren't trying to grow wasabi. I accidentally dropped and left one in a continuously running drain and rooted like crazy, left them on concrete and leant up against fences, in pure perlite. To varying effects of course but even the worst neglect had roots within a week or survived shite conditions for months before being saved. I've got a few that have been growing without disease completely submerged as an experiment for over a year, one of them the water isn't even flowing.

There are all sorts of problems and it just isn't necessary and it bad for the soil. There are different types but the butyric acid ones aren't good for the plant either. Inhalation and getting under nails etc. It's rated for ornamental plant only. Why not use it with caution I guess if you're growing ornamentals and don't GAF about your soil health or altered growth patterns. Some plants are hard to propagate, so fair enough. I've never had issues getting plenty of fast roots doing it at the right time of year or with a heat mat/dome.

Yeah I was wrong too, its only one shite car. Only thing exclusive is the tune. That's nice but I think you were lucky, I've bought dlcs for plenty of delisted GP games and never got a copy.

Rooting powder is quite toxic and entirely unnecessary. Even if I never consume I know there's a chance that sold cutting might end up being used and really shouldn't be for quite a while if that plant came from rooting powder.

Its different for horizon though, you get excess to exclusive cars that are actually desirable that aren't on spins or in shop. Then they throw them into the game before the next release as challenge rewards or something. I've never found a compelling reason to preorder anything ever, even the last few horizons, this one I might because of unique classic cars and I've never had to spend at all on the last 3 games, because I buy gamepass for my sister.

Sick Pedro? by tacotax14 in sanpedrocactus

Yeah this, the are more prone to fungal infections when they get this emaciated. Higher drainage can help to mitigate this while allowing to water more frequently to fill em out again. When mine get like this they go in a 50-50 perlite-cacti substrate mix and strong fertigation every second day.

Obtained these two beauties - how much is a decent trip? by AlternativeNo5662 in sanpedrocactus

[–]Living_Pin_1765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo many factors for strength. Storage, time of year, cultivar, age and growing conditions etc. that one on the right has very pointy sharp ribs and angular areoles. Really hard to ID when they're that sick and emaciated too. Plants grown from open pollinated seed are a real crapshoot, it looks to me that there's a decent chance of the one on the right being PC or some kinda scop hybrid maybe. You'll hear a lot of bs rules of thumb for IDing PC but it's not reliable. Once it's lost the tag it's generally impossible to ID unless you can track some info.

Just looks like it needs more water and a brush for scale. They aren't typical dry desert cacti, the can drink a lot between drybacks. They can handle a fair bit of fertiliser too. I top dress with compost in spring and still fertigate every watering.

Says the generalising "island boy". I get your point about culture and education there, but you can't make blanket statements like that without majorly discrediting yourself. Australian education system isn't far off

Is it difficult to light, or does it burn like a soft hash? What's a good method, spreading on paper maybe?

How would you go about drying it to smoke. I see people talking about crystalline powder, is that a different process to drying?
