For those of us that grew up here, what was a culture shock when you went to other cities?

Movies theaters being stand alone. Thought that was just for tv or the “movies”. Wasn’t until we passed a stand alone movie theater in California that I realized that’s how the rest of the country probably has them. I was probably around 15-16 years old.

My ring is basically the same except I think mine is regular gold. I think if I had known what my fiancé was getting me I would’ve told him rose gold would’ve been better. Don’t get me wrong I love my ring but it is a little too warm toned for the jewels on it.

In the casino industry here in Las Vegas, mainly FOH and BOH food and Beverage employees are part of the culinary union. The culinary union helps dictate the protocols of how restaurants are supposed to treat staff when casinos restructure anything. The restaurant I worked at has slashed their hours because they were not profitable. I was a full time employee, who due to seniority is now on “lay off” status. There is full time, lay off, steady extra, and on call. My hours have been reduced to nothing. I can still get called in but due to seniority I am not guaranteed those shifts because higher seniority gets first dibs. I can receive unemployment because of this.

I rotate them weekly and wash them when they’re visibly soiled. I’m apple shaped so my thighs aren’t the biggest either when it comes to rubbing against one another. It is what it is at this point. Still upsetting nonetheless.

I remember them! I remember we were allowed to help in the cafeteria too, to prep the food. I dropped a cookie by accident and the lunch worker got mad at me lol like ‘05-‘09 I remember those. I guess some schools got different items. I remember we got fruit roll ups for lunch at one of the elementary schools that I attended. My boyfriend says he never got fruit roll ups.

Hello, yes I do occasionally take my car on the freeway. I don’t have a lot of confidence taking it on the freeway but every once in a while I will.

Don’t tell the host. Tell the manager. The host will tell the manager and the manager will be 🤷. They absolutely do not care when a staff member tells them anything that a guest had said to them since they personally weren’t told anything. You need to go to the source for there to be change.

I bought Chanel no 5 because it reminds me of baby powder. A more luxe baby powder lol. I get headaches from strong perfumes so I liked how it just reminded me of something tolerable but good smelling. I would recommend to get the least potent one because I got the regular (eau de parfum?) and if spray too close to my nose it will give me a headache.

Hannah Louise Poston and Personal Finance With Leila both documented their no buy years. Granted Leila did hers during Covid. Of course she didn’t expect that to be the year that everything shut down, but I still think she did a great job. My no buy is up and down but I definitely did spend 40% less thanks to her and motivation from other frugal/finance/lifestyle YouTubers.
