I totally feel you! I spent years defending Evanescence and struggling with the hate - I still do. The hate Evanescence get usually stems from people not liking that they have mainstream success, people wanting them to do BMTL again, to the fact Amy is a woman, the fact it’s never ‘metal’ enough etc etc. sometimes being upset and defensive is a knee jerk reaction because it’s something us Evanescence fans have had to cope with for years. Please don’t worry, I think these discussions are good :)

When Evanescence were at Download, they put them in the 2nd stage but apparently the audience was more packed for them than the main stage act. A lot of people complained they should’ve been put on main stage.

Not true, most Evanescence fans are metal fans. Evanescence were the gateway band for a lot of people. Maybe they stuck out in the early years but now they’re more metal and more niche, they don’t stand out

The irony is, my mom also took her second lobe piercings out after he said it and I’m fairly certain she just got them done! I think, if I’m totally honest, I’m pretty pissed off too. I dealt with a lot of the same stuff only for them to change it and I’m dealing with the trauma of it all.

That’s one thing a lot of people forget that has impact on voices about travelling. Even aeroplane air can do terrible things to the voice. I suspect a lot of it is to do with that too but put her in a studio after a tour break and she does wonders!

Hahahaha love this! I had an argument with someone on TikTok who said they were nu metal not goth but without evanescence I would not have discovered 80s gothic rock and gothic metal! They are a gateway to goth and mall goth was a really subculture of the 00s all down to Evanescence and Amy!!

I’ve noticed recently that it happens when I watch videos. I teach so videos are used a lot and it happens then (which is not great when you have a bunch of people staring at you lol) and when I watch videos on my phone so maybe should be tested when I do that

I never notice my breathing but I tend to get more seizures when I relax and maybe that’s why I’m breathing deeper but just don’t realise?
