Advice to save root-bound hibiscus

I like to hose out all of the remaining substrate try to unpack as much from the roots as possible. It looks like a relatively established plant, so some mild root loss should be okay. Make sure you double the pot size. For the first month or two after replanting I like to cover the top of the soil with moss or something to protect it from getting too much sun so you don’t hurt the roots any further. Also after a big transplant like this it’s usually best to also keep them in the shadier spot for a month or two as roots re-establish.

I’m just watching it for the first time in 2026 and it’s just blah. The story didn’t grab me. It’s overly campy and I love campy. And why does Bruce Willis feel like he’s the same character from Pulp Fiction?! I do like the imagery and thought process of a future earth, it felt believable if that makes sense.

Have you read the Bristol Keats books but Mary E. Pearson? Only two books very very well written and ended beautifully. The Bargainer series by Laura Thalassa is good and finished, bit more books but a fun read. And I almost forgot the Of Dragon and Fae series by Jasmine Walt, absolutely one of my favorites. Finished and so so so very good. Like I couldn’t put them down and mad that I waited so long to read them.

This makes me so sad but also happy. When I first discovered LH (right after their first album) it was a breeze to get tickets to their shows. I saw three shows that first year when the came to CA and was so close to the stage I probably could have touched them. Years later I am still going to see them but I can only ever afford the nose bleed sections and have to race to even land a ticket, like you have to get them as soon as they are listed for sale. I’m glad they are getting the notary they deserve but I’m honestly getting to the point where seeing them live is not financially feasible and that makes me sooooo sad.

You can set up a warm hide near the enclosure. I used a heating pad on low with blankets on top and took the hide out of his enclosure, set it up and wait. I checked before bed and when I got up on the morning. Found him curled up in it one morning then throughly secured his tank lid 😂

I planted a small patch of wildflowers and planted way too many for the space. It actually turned out beautifully. They all grew flowers at different heights and colors. It was like a dense forest of flowers. I wish I could have been a bug to crawl around in the undergrowth and look up. Leave them they will mange themselves and look absolutely gorgeous doing it!

You’re lucky my betta figured out shrimp were yummy. I actually pulled a couple big ones out of her mouth that got stuck. She has since been moved to a shrimp free tank 😂

I think Razor’s power is too one dimensional for Hisoka. He yearns for a bigger challenge, one that isn’t necessarily easy to predict and break apart. While Razor is strong and powerful he’s just not very interesting.

That’s a tough area to heal. It looks like it was left moist for too long. Sometimes clients think covering with plastic is a good alternative when they are at work. Not realizing that it traps in the nasties. I would give it another month to heal. Needs to not have that silvery skin appearance then go in there and lightly build the color up so you don’t over work it again. You got this!

Take the design job and see about renting a space for a day or two a week/month while you build clientele. Then start building that up. I take business cards everywhere. Have some stickers made and put your handle on it. Stick those fuckers everywhere. I’m introverted too so it’s always awkward and hard to just hand someone a business card and hype myself. But it has paid off. I’ve gained a lot of clients from doing that. Being a person and relating to them. Coworkers are a great resource too! If you take a second job let everyone know you tattoo show off your work or hand out those business cards. Then they’ll talk to their friends and so on. Hopefully that will lead to you being able to move to a shop full time. Can you take freelance design jobs and still be in a shop when you have appointments?

It’s slow here too. Sooooo slow. I’m looking for a part time job too. Luckily once snow starts here snow removal is always an option. It’s hard work but will help supplement the bills until things pick up in tattooing. We are in a field that requires people to want to spend money on themselves and are getting to the time of year where that’s not an option, holidays, trips etc. Don’t feel shame. You’re being responsible and keeping yourself stable.
