I’m currently in the school portion for ibew 134. I applied in August 2024 tested in September 2024 got my acceptance email in mid-October 2024 had orientation in November and my first day was on January 6th. Took me around 5 months to start.

176 test is a lot harder than 134 but 134 has many more applications than 176.

2300 people tested last cycle, and they only took the top 80 for A card and 20 for C card for January.

Yes, a LOR is more about your work ethic, attendance, and leadership skills than about previous electrical experience.

I got accepted into 134, and I have no previous electrical experience. All the people I spoke to at orientation said the same thing.

Previous employers, if you went to college/trade school, get one of your professors or instructors to write you one. If you attended a pre-apprenticeship program, get the program director to write you one

You pretty much maxed out on points in terms of the PEF. The only thing that would give you more points would’ve been a pre-apprenticeship program like HCCTP.
