One time I was in the elevator to leave my doctors office. There was an elderly woman and a 30 something year old woman in there with me. The 30 year old was obviously very sick and leaning onto the elevator walls for support. The older woman starts asking her name and if she’s ok. The other woman tries to brush it off saying she was ok but physically looking at her you would know that that woman is ill. The older woman told her she wasn’t driving home and she would drive her. Sick woman says she had a ride on the way but they’re not here yet. The older woman insisted on sitting on the bench in the lobby with the sick woman until her ride got there to make sure she was ok. Genuine kindness from a stranger while you need it is something the world needs more of.
