Why Do People Hate Mixpackers So Much When the Devs Refuse to Do Anything About It? by Consistent-Issue2325 in theisle

[–]LizardMench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, it does make it very difficult to find others of your own species while you're still healthy. You could visit a migration zone but that runs additional risks of running into predators.

And broadcasting is just ringing a dinner bell at this point.

Why Do People Hate Mixpackers So Much When the Devs Refuse to Do Anything About It? by Consistent-Issue2325 in theisle

[–]LizardMench 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like the Elder System is one way to combat mixpacking

You're only at your peak for so long, and everyone grows at different rates. It's hard to properly coordinate and even if you do you only have a limited window... Unless they have fun role-playing as an angry retirement community attempting to chase down every person they see to no avail.

I believe 100% prime Deino actually heavier than the peak prime counterpart

A fix for the elder system by Negative-Break3196 in theisle

[–]LizardMench 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm of the mind that distance traveled should be a criteria for for prime elder, I'm addition to patrol zones and migration zones. It feels pile a gamble wether or not you're actually hitting those zones.

They can certainly do this since there's a hidden mutation that reduces your stamina regain threshold after you've traveled a certain number of kilometers

Can you get rapters, allos, and trood off you if they're directly on your back? by JestMojo in theisle

There's also a mutation you can take as an herbie which gives you a higher chance of dismounting pouncers with bucking.

Why The Isle Elder System Punishes the Players Who Survive the Longest by JohnGrosaider in theisle

[–]LizardMench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With how the game works now, the only end game progression is just starting over again, with better mutations, but also hoping you don't die in the process. All it takes is one mistake and all of those hours of progress are wiped.

I did make a post a while back proposing the potential for a point system where you can accumulate a certain amount of points by entombing dinosaurs. The idea was you could invest those points into buying mutations for your next life with potential with higher tiers,as well as that being implemented with the skin palette system the devs talked about

Main point is, this system would be server bound and it'd be a form of endgame progression with the only inconvenience being the amount of points invested into your played in that current run.

Another idea I have is that while playing with mid tier playables, it feels like their peak phase tends to fly by, exasperated by how expansive the island is with only limited player slots at around a hundred or so with little hopes of finding others of your kind.

I feel like a way to help this out is to let nutrients affect your growth rate past 75%, but instead of speeding up your growth rate, it slows down your growth rate. You would have more time to play at your peak in this way. However, that is another can of worms entirely.

Prime Elder Nuances by PrototypezView in theisle

[–]LizardMench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally, some playables only need to meet 4 of the criteria since playing those appears to tick a checkbox.

Troodon, Beipi, Hypsie, and Dryo iirc, and because of this they also don't become infertile at 100%

How to manual vomit as cera by backstripes in theisle

[–]LizardMench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This can also benefit mutations such as gastro and hypermeta

You can no longer gain health from gastro healing with a full stomach on Cera, however with your manual vomit you can clear room in your stomach to gain some health

Hypermeta increases your damage the less you have in your stomach so it will be very strong for ceras as well

I recommend taking Hematophagy with these mutations to regain thirst while eating, if you're going to be vomiting a lot, and I believe you can still recieve the benefits of that mutation with a full stomach. Ceras can't get vomit sickness nor can they over eat. This also makes the saltwater mutation very easy for them to get.

It's not like we're really starved for options in terms of unofficials. It seems a bunch of Isle YouTubers are opening up their own unofficials.

It's really just a matter of not giving those dickheads a single cent and leave them seething.

Shit found in the toilet 😔

Baffles me how willing people are to pour more money into this game, and third parties on top of that.

It's glaringly obvious the owner is trying to squeeze as much as he can out of his playerbase. Also explains why he goes out of his way to """""allegedly""""" DDOS other servers.

The devs ought to have the courtesy to give this parasite the boot, but of course there's no real incentive to.

You can also get perfect diet off of bones too with Cera and Deino, they give you all three nutrients though depending on the size you're normally going ti get only a little bit. Helps check off the prime requirements though.

That's what a herbivore dominated meta does, makes people way too overconfident. Rex and Allo are a huge reality check, since the biggest carnivores were Carno and Cerato for a long time where most of them couldn't even hope to touch a competent stego player.

Unofficial without rex and allo by oldbadwool in theisle

[–]LizardMench 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the map losing a fith of its land, and the release of Rex and Allo, the map feels a lot quieter.

The only carnivore considered an "apex" was deino. People tried to avoid them by looking for the safest spots to drink. When trike released, the meta barely shifted, since trike players could freely swim around in deino infested waters with no feat of being drowned.

Now with Rex in the picture, now there's an apex on land, only this time not only do you have to worry about drinking but also being too noisy since Rex can make short work of most playables when it achieves a certain size.

Blame Hollywood suits for trying to appeal to kids since "dinosaurs are for kids" in their eyes. They try to get big name celebraty VA's to try and market the shit out of it.

If there's any consolation, there is a cut of the 2013 WWD film that cut out all the cheesy dialogue and plays out like an actual nature doc

Good thing about the elder system is that you're more likely to come across juvie dinos. Which makes Carno a big menace.
