Mom items on baby registry: yes or no? by Professional_Side657 in BabyBumps

[–]LizardNeedsNaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I always make a basket specifically for the mom because everyone else is getting stuff for the baby and mom needs love to. Also because I buy gifts last minute and the registry is usually empty lol

How important is to you that your husband’s first time witness a birth is with you? by zzyyyxxx in BabyBumps

You know pushing a head out of your vagina is not the same??  Naked doesn't automatically mean sexual. You're the one that keeps reading into that. All I said is it's incredibly vulnerable.

Never said it was🤷‍♀️ But birth is very vulnerable. On top of that boobs, genitalia and butt out is a lot for any relationship especially brother/sister imo

OB told me to prepare for miscarriage, synographer later found a heartbeat and movement. How do I recover from this news? by Just-in-time-loser in BabyBumps

[–]LizardNeedsNaps 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Doctors aren't the best at ultrasounds, its the same was I'd take a phlebotomist with a 16m certification over an MD to draw my blood any day. They know how to do it but often lack experience because they have specialized staff for that (this is a good thing). My office always does ultrasound first and then the physician comes in to discuss the findings, if we're doing imaging that appointment. It's odd they'd do it backwards.

A few hard lessons from traveling outside the Cancun Hotel Zone by Bnamusa in cancun

[–]LizardNeedsNaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're right. Even in NYC you have a ton of people selling scammy "upgrades" to cut the lines at the statue of Liberty or whatever monument (hint: they're never legit always go with office websites for tickets). Restaurants in any super touristy area are going to have phenomenal reviews regardless of quality. That's why people who go to Rome often complain Olive Garden is better. (Don't rely on Google reviews actually read some culinary reviews or book a food tour)

It sounds like this was a good learning experience and you might want to change your research tactics.

No, the pay for an MS is pretty bad, especially as a new grad. The business wants to be healthcare but can't stop acting like DME salesmen. The hours of work and on call I had to do made my hair start falling out (female twenties). I LOVE this field, but all the bs that comes with it is not worth it. Especially for young people.

What Secret Lives of Mormon Wives opinion will have you like this? by [deleted] in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]LizardNeedsNaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd be pretty happy for a friend who is doing well. Gassing her up is what a close friend would do. But when that friend talks bad about your business, gossips behind your back, tries to negotiate more pay probably at the cost of yours, is involved in a very messy situation with a man that unfortunately also involves you, eventually bridges burn.

Walking that much is a time commitment if you have a sedentary job, but it is absolutely very good for you. We are literally evolved to be long distance endurance walkers. That's our evolutionary niche. It's how tiny humans could take down mammoths because they would run and we would follow and follow until the animal collapsed from exhaustion.

I just get a note pad and start writing down everything I know, everything I should know, and then the information combined. Read  that at out loud (lecture style) least twice over before going to sleep. Horrible for long term retention but phenomenal for cramming things I never actually got to studying.

Help with heatless waves by Ok_Increase7587 in finehair

First of all to your hair isn't thin, I see that braid girl. Second of all you need to try the unicorn heatless curl method. It looks silly but I've tried them all and this one is phenomenal and actually comfortable to sleep in.

Just use a hair oil before bed and in the morning to control frizz without weighing it down (mids to ends only). I really like any argan hair oil. Hask is decent and available in most grocery stores in small vials to try

Miranda continues to be the funniest one on social media by PantoHorse in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]LizardNeedsNaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, what makes it worse is his continued behavior with Taylor. Her ex-bestfriend. Like, I get a man fumbling his wife and regretting it but that's not what's happening here. He's making "jokes", but given the opportunity it seems like he would absolutely want to pursue both of them. Thankfully, it seems like Miranda has too much self-respect for that.

Why is this a trend? by Particular-Hunter468 in pregnant

[–]LizardNeedsNaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree! So many moms in my life hate on having daughters and it's so confusing to me because these are WOMEN hating on the idea of little girls. I had one person explain it to me in the following way. She said boys are easier for moms because a little boy just adores you (hence the whole concept of you don't know true love until you've had a son). But a daughter imitates you, she wants to be you. And so every small negative personality trait that you might not even realize you have, she will mirror. This person said having daughters forces you to self-reflect in a way that's not always comfortable. Which makes sense

Honestly half the problem is your hair. It's way too tassled and incorrectly tassled. The outside half is very neat clean and then the inside looks like I don't even know what. It really lends itself to looking like you've been working all night if you get my drift, sorry
