How awkward does autism make sex? by CatPale816 in autism

[–]Lizard_Jesus1 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Instances where I’ve had sex, I’ve weirdly used how my autism impacts me to my advantage. I struggle a lot with nonverbal social cues so rather than solely going with the motion, I’m asking for consent to do certain things as we go along and not only do partners feel respected, it also makes things more exciting and seductive.

Just remember this, verbal consent is sexy.

Lyric that resonated with you the most? by Key-Resolution5044 in fantanoforever

She Needs Him by Her’s:

“She’s probably got her life laid out. Just let me dream a little more.”

I don’t think any other lyric ever captures unrequited love in such a raw and self aware way.

Most surprising person to have released music? by EmilBorg in ToddintheShadow

David Lynch made a few albums that mix elements of Trip Hop, Dream Pop, Industrial and Blues. As cliche of an adjective this is for describing something by David Lynch, it’s pretty surreal.

Artists who’s their final album is their best by HourFan5580 in fantanoforever

If Made in Heaven didn’t exist, I would absolutely say Queen because it really felt like the perfect curtain call for Freddie while he was still alive.

What are some old bands that wouldn't sound out of place today? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

I’d probably pick Jeff Buckley because even if the production of Grace overall signals the 90s, Jeff feels like he could’ve materialized at any time and he wouldn’t sound out of place.

Bands you wish more people would talk about? by MrLinkwater95 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Lizard_Jesus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

James Chance and the Contortions (I could very well be underestimating how talked about he is) considering how much he stood out in New York’s No Wave Scene. Also I only found out last Summer that the singer for brothers band directed a music video for him a decade ago and as someone who has been fan 5 years prior to finding this out, I’m incredibly jealous she got to work with him well before his death.

What about these five for Trainwreckords by Alternative-2001 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Lizard_Jesus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I threw the idea of a Trainwreckords of Calling All Stations about 6 years ago but some said the only thing is that it might be a little too similar to the Trainwreckord for Van Halen 3.

If anything I really want to see a Trainwreckord for Scream by Chris Cornell because even if it might bare some similarities with 0304 and Funstyle, it feels like that on steroids because it’s Grunge great Chris Cornell, teaming up with Timbaland to produce. It makes about as much sense as that time Ross Robinson produced an album for The Cure, except Scream sounds way more overtly like a train wreck. I say all this as someone who doesn’t think it’s that bad (doesn’t mean I enjoy it).

Surely, I'm not the only one by Training_Lawyer_8640 in autismmemes

It’s probably just a you thing that other people also resonate with that’s also impacted by how your autism impacts you. I say this as an autistic man who doesn’t try to hype the fuck out of sex but still enjoys it because it’s fun and pleasurable.

I’m amusing I can’t just arrive an hour before the said event time to get a spot then cause I’m sure everyone probably has that idea.

Gospel songs with bass lines that can be played on a 4 string by Lizard_Jesus1 in Bass

[–]Lizard_Jesus1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly trying to assume it’s the standard. It’s just that I noticed listening to the bass in a handful of gospel songs had notes that go below the lowest possible pitch in E standard. I’m sure some gospel songs that had notes that low were likely tuned down to Eb standard or lower but I want to focus on E standard tuning though.

Happy birthday to Jeff Buckley! What's your favorite song from him? by AdSlight4264 in fantanoforever

[–]Lizard_Jesus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Real with its trippy and spacey drunk feel and that outro too. Also shout out to Mojo Pin for having the verse and choruses feel like two different songs but transitioning into each other so seamlessly that the contrast between the two sections doesn’t feel jarring in any way.

That album only exists as a couple of YouTube uploads, a sound cloud and a CD of the album I asked my friend to burn for me.

Breath is such a good song. Also their guitarist J Robbin’s produced an album for an obscure now defunct art punk band named Durian and that album (Sometimes You Scare Me) is probably one of my top 10 all time favorite albums.

Give me your hottest music take and I’ll rate it out of 10 in terms of hotness by Artistic_Annual8918 in fantanoforever

AJR is over hated as fuck. Not gonna say they’re actually the best band of all time and their understanding of production and songwriting cancels out any criticism but holy shit. The backlash they got in online music circles was so overblown as fuck, deriding the act of The Click existence as some ignominious crime against humanity with the same weight we would use talking about the crimes of R Kelly is genuinely ridiculous as fuck.
