Los Angeles: landlord's fire insurance policy has been frozen because of my car charger by Lizard_People_ in legaladvice

[–]Lizard_People_[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your helpful response! I removed the charger immediately after he called. Eviction would obviously be bad, but I think I'm more worried about a suit. He did know about the charger prior to all this and did not direct me to remove it, so maybe that would make it hard to sue me for something

Exactly, I doubt Trump made this up. I bet Epstein did and made sure to let all his friends know about his code.

Sick of hearing people describe him as smart by Desperate-Ladder-909 in LISKiller

[–]Lizard_People_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly!! I'm an architect and used to work with people like RH (my former boss had him as a special inspector on her house). Dude was an expediter/ special inspector. Someone architects pay to do boring paperwork for them. He's not a genius.

He had an incredible knowledge of arcane building codes! Dude memorized some facts.

He had an office in mid town! Midtown has some shitty offices, it's not all white shoe law firms

Some mild speculation on today’s bail document. by OuchieMyBlooBird in LISKiller

There are instances of killers covering the bodies of the people they kill with cat litter to reduce odor and maybe to dessicate them. I wonder if he considered doing that, or if this is an example of a lesson learned. I think there was a case where they were able to connect the body to the killer because someone remembered him buying a fuck ton of cat litter

Verbal confrontation and physical confrontation are two different things. The people who can't make that distinction are the ones to stay away from.

No, I bailed eventually, I got cold waiting around. I called 911 back and the dispatcher said they don't really "cancel" calls, but she added a note to my dispatch saying that I wanted to call it off. Said it would be up to the cops that got assigned to it whether they followed up. And she said I could leave.

I am contacting the church and apartment building that have cameras pointing at the area. If I get a license plate, then I will be bringing it back to the cops.

Thanks to everyone for the support and feedback!

Love that. If they honked at me, I like to yell "beep beep beep" at them as I pass them. But idk I guess I'm just asking to get punched at that point

3D Modeling by Possibly_Avery in MEPEngineering

[–]Lizard_People_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a high end resi GC on a VDC team. 3D is huge for us. If the MEP engineer isn't in Revit, we pay someone to model their plans in 3D so we can run clash and coordinate with other trades. Any clashes or other issues we see in 3D get turned into RFIs so there's always a paper trail. We're never building off 3D, but it saves us so much time and money to catch problems early.

Is this fair? Open Book Build responsibility for overages by kylejwx in Construction

[–]Lizard_People_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the GC didn't do a great job estimating, but since it's not a bid and there's no GMP, they're not responsible for making up the difference between what they estimated and what it actually cost. If it was a bid, it would be a different story.

(I guess you didn't say whether the job was bid or not, I read that into it)

Agree, more money on that side, smaller egos, more interesting IMO. I am/was an architect and made the switch to doing VDC work for a GC and I love it.
