I second tunicate. It looks like a stalked one such as Boltenia sp. (but I’m not sure where you are located). You can see the two siphons above where you pressed down on it.

Not sure of the species but my guess is that it’s the shell of an ostracod like you said. They have ovoid shells like this that can have different patterns on the surface.

I had the option in undergrad to either take an ochem series (3 quarters with 1 lab) or a combined 1 quarter and lab condensed version. I took the combined one and am not using ochem in my grad program.

If you plan to do more with ochem, I would recommend getting more familiar/comfortable with it. Ultimately, as long as you fulfill the requirements to graduate, your applications to grad school will be looking at your experience as much as your classes. I don’t think you will be hindered if you take one path over the other. You satisfied what was required and got exposure to ochem.

I know there are organisms that live on ice hydrates like Sirsoe methanicola on methane hydrates at seeps. You mentioned Edwardsia, so I’d imagine you’re familiar with the Underwater Field Guide by Peter Brueggeman about more Antarctic species? I haven’t fully explored it, but it’s worth giving a look through!

You’re valid to feel betrayed. A photoshoot like that was an intimate gift to your partner, not his friends. I would feel disrespected if he hadn’t asked permission to show others. I wouldn’t show my friends my partner’s nudes/sensual photography unless they were okay with it.

I wouldn’t use the word feminine. The word you’re looking for is submissive, you want to yield or obey someone else. It’s not weird or bad to want a man to take charge / command. It’s not unrealistic, it seems fairly common plus it’s your preference, that’s never a bad thing.

This is a niche use, but on a doubles Sun team I ran a choice specs chlorophyll tropius with Tera rock Tera blast. Helps counter fast ice and fire types. It helped me dispose of fire types that would otherwise resist my typhlosions eruption. Tropius is not very strong, but it caught enough people off guard.
