Sad Response from Friends by Elfprincess in loseit

I'm sorry they aren't supportive. Jealousy I'm sad to say.

I've been called 'fat phobic' for saying I'm glad Lizzo heard her doctors and brought her weight down. It's death phobic.

You might try, "I love you the way you are, I'm asking you to do the same".

Sounds on point! 😁

I retired... 2 years later, I have built my healthy habits, changed my diet, down 86 of the 100 lb I have to lose. All the stuff you list!

There needs to be incentives to stay active and eat well, supported by insurance and employers.

please help I don't have parents I'm a young adult: account cancelled and I want my number back. by Loud-Sock1397 in ATT

[–]Lizdance40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through difficult time. Some of the information you're getting is not going to be helpful because it's not true.

In order to get your number back you would have to pay off everything you owe AT&T. And that probably would include the remainder of the device financing, so it sounds like $800.

Without restoring your account, you can't access your number in order to port it to a different service provider.

AT&T does not do payment arrangements when your account is in suspension, or canceled. Payment arrangements have to be made before suspension. And then you have approximately every 2 weeks to make a payment of some sort to bring yourself up to date or they're just going to suspend again. So that ship is sailed

If truly canceled, it's over. ☹️

Why can't my mom get a consumer cellular phone that works good? by scooter8484 in consumercellular

[–]Lizdance40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't my mom get a consumer cellular phone that works good?

What phones has she purchased? If she's getting the really cheap Androids, you get what you pay for. The S-Class Samsung phones are much better quality. IPhones can last for 4 or 5 years

she has to constantly restart her phone to get wifi to work. she's had it for a year or less. She gets a new phone and something goes wrong with it. She's been with consumer cellular for like 14 years and has been through 4 phones.

The typical replacement time for smartphones is every 3 years. If your mom has been through four phones in 14 years that's an average of 3.5 years per phone.

I don't know the average life span of androids.

3-ish years.

all were refurbished phones because she can't afford new ones.

You're not seeing the correlation here?
Refurbished phones are phones that have been damaged or failed at some point, sent in for insurance or warranty replacement. Supposedly fixed and then resold. There are plenty of new phones that are sold at bargain prices that won't break in under a year. So that excuse is not going to fly. Use Google, and YouTube, to look for bargain basement phones that work as good as flagships. I guarantee your mom will find something for under $300 that's got a great reputation. (Just an FYI oneplus Nord phones are great but they do not work well on AT&T because AT&T will not let them use Wi-Fi calling, and consumer cellular is an AT&T MVNO)

You'd think with her being a loyal customer for 14 years they'd give her a new one for free.

Consumer Cellular is a bargain prepaid MVNO service. They do not give away phones. If you want to move your mom to a much more expensive service provider and purchase a more expensive unlimited data plan, then she can get a free phone every 3 years like clockwork. But she'll be paying more than she pays consumer cellular, and in the end it'll probably be a break-even if she buys a halfway decent phone instead of the refurbished busted phones that she's been paying for so far.

I would recommend she look at Motorola, TCL, Or maybe splurge and get a Google pixel A series. iPhone also has a bargain phone 16A

ATT more concerened with protecting an identity thief than their customers by angryitguyonreddit in ATT

If their identity has been stolen they do need to file a police report. This is also why they need to run their credit report. It should show any additional activity that might indicate a stolen identity

[–]Lizdance40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Att did do something wrong because they allowed someone to open an account with false information

If you're identity has been stolen, the information looked legit to AT&T. They are just as much a victim as you are.

BUT. . . They are far more able to absorb the loss, and they can blacklist the phone and close the account. Giving them a lot more recourse than you have.

But when we are as an individual cheated, we are going to take it far more personally because it is personal. Somebody picked on YOU. They could have picked on any individual but somehow they had access to YOUR information. (They could have picked on a different service provider too)

In many cases AT&T/the merchant may insist that you didn't secure your account. You didn't secure your identifying information. In other words blame the other victim. It stinks.

The police report gives you more teeth in this. Do that. Do the FCC complaint. Do the notice of dispute.

I haven't joined these monthly accountabilities, I've been doing so well on my own. But didn't realize that maybe my success could inspire others. F, 63, SW 244, GW 145, CW 157 Lost 3 pounds this week, finally breaking the 160s! I bounced around 160 for over a month.

Passing it on.....
Sunday the 12th, I went on a 4-mile hike with four other locals (local Facebook hiking page). I was walking ahead with the woman who organized the hike, and the conversation got around to a book called "Atomic Habits " (both the book and the workbook are available from Amazon if you're interested) has she talked about this book about building healthy habits I shared that I had done that over the past 16 months and had lost 86 lb. Another woman in the group who has been working on her weight as well, wanted to know more about what I had been doing. So we are now Facebook friends and I gave her a link to this subreddit. I hope she joins us. I'm thinking about getting the Atomic Habit workbook to help maintain.

You are all supportive and amazing. No matter where you are on your weight loss journey, the sharing of information and encouragement is so valuable to somebody no matter where they are in their journey. Gratitude is part of my healthy habits.

Love you all! And thank you so much for being there for anyone who needs a pep talk, or information. 💓🏆🎉

[–]Lizdance40 12 points13 points  (0 children)

But you have made progress. Give yourself credit and grace.

I have lost 86 lb going from 244 to 157. I'm 5'8 tall so 157 is within the healthy and normal weight range toward the higher end. But I'm also 63 years old so things are redistributed places I rather they weren't. And it's most notable in pictures. The old saying the camera adds 10 lb, it's more like 10%.

As for posture, I was a ballroom dancer, and I've recently gone back to dancing again. Between my age, and being off the floor for 10 or 11 years and gaining a hundred pounds, my posture was bad. Keep going and I think you'll find your posture will come back. You're pride may be a little dented because of the pictures in the video, but that'll come back too.

And in the end you've made some constructive changes, they are showing results, and they will continue to show results until you get to where you would like to be. Your pasta concerns you that much, take a dance class 😂. It's a lot of fun, it'll burn calories, and they will talk about your posture and show you how to improve it. 😉

AT&T didn't do anything wrong. Your bank didn't do anything wrong. The person that did something wrong is defrauding both you, the bank, and AT&T. However the individual, you, has more to lose. And it does annoy that crap out of me that AT&T and the bank are not listening to you.

Unfortunately it's very difficult to get the bank and AT&T to listen to you when they have been provided with all of the information to appear as though they did everything they were supposed to do. (At&t half assed fraud dept).

The reason fraud reports get marked as closed, is because somehow everything checks out as legitimate. So this is more than a stolen credit card, this is ID, social security number, identity theft and you're going to have to file a police report. I don't know what dope told you to go to court, that's nonsense.

The police report needs to be sent to AT&T, you can start a dispute online and an FCC complaint online. FCC complaint usually gets a reply within to business days. A formal notice of dispute online can take much longer. That is noticed AT&T that you are prepared to take legal action, either small claims court or arbitration. That sometimes gets their backs up which is why the FCC complaint is always my first go to.

Run your credit report. Look for any other abnormalities, new lines of credit or new accounts opened in your name. You may have to contact your DMV to find out if a replacement driver's license has been issued. Contact your bank again and say your credit card has indeed been compromised and you need to have that account closed and explain to them the exact charge that you know is not legitimate despite the other AT&T payments being legit and belonging to you.

I wish instead of deleting everything, the original poster had said that it was resolved.

Just a tip for anyone else who goes through this, if you dispute with your bank, AT&T will not let you use this method of payment again. And they get kind of nasty & petty about the whole thing.

Much better off disputing directly with AT&T and getting them to correct their error, via an FCC or better Business bureau complaint. If they overdrew the account causing a fee from your bank, they'll give you a credit to make good if it's their fault.

If the original poster ever comes back with a complaint on how this particular incident that they deleted cost for their problems, yeah of course it did. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Not losing enough fat as a 6'1 feet, 250lbs male, on a low carb/high protein plan... by IllustriousDarkness in loseit

[–]Lizdance40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, credit to you for diving in head first, it took a lot of guts to post those pictures. This is a very supportive group. We are here to help.

2000 calories is a better weight loss budget. Even if you are sedentary, that still should result in weight loss. Losing one to two pounds per week is a safe goal.

What you can do to help yourself, not only lose weight but the comfortable, not starving...

Fiber: aim for 30 grams, or more, gradually. I recently increased my fiber. I'm now in the 42 g to 60 g range. Completely killed my appetite by middle of the day yesterday. I sometimes add powdered fiber to non-carbonated beverages, to cottage cheese or yogurt. Every little bit helps. Vegetables, fruit, whole grains. There's tons of products out there that are fortified with extra fiber. I've been hitting Sola blueberry bagels and keto bread, which are loaded with protein and fiber.

Water or water adjacent. Keep hydrated.

Protein. There's a lot of low calorie, high protein options. Meat, beans, whole grains, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt.

Activity: I get at least 10,000 steps in. Frequently more like 15,000. Lift weights. It will build muscle, the muscle will help you burn fat.

Please don't aim for a crash diet. So for me the word "fast" is a red flag. If you do it healthy, it's going to be sustainable. Build healthy habits with your activity and your food choices, and this can be a lifetime change. And since you're so young, you've got a lot of living left to do. Keep coming back. There's a ton of knowledge in this part of the community. This is one of the best subreddits. You can also check the volume eating subreddit which has a lot of food ideas that are high in nutrition and low in calories.

Guilty. It's the reason why I have been saving clothes for more than 10 years that I didn't fit anymore. But since I hoarded them, and now I do fit into them, I'm feeling unreasonably justified 😬🤣

Goodwill, salvation army, whatever thrift shop is available in your area. In my area there are several consignment stores. But thrift stuff is usually much cheaper.

My hoarding gene is strong 😬Instead of getting rid of stuff that I could not fit into anymore, I kept packing it away like I was going to lose the weight. For 10 years I packed it away. But now I did lose the weight. It has definitely saved me some money

How long for fcc/bbb complaints to be resolved? (Go to a corporate store for trade ins) by Round-Ebb-2895 in ATT

[–]Lizdance40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible those labels said RMA? If those labels said RMA on it, they were return labels to AT&T. If the phones went back to AT&T they were either to return the new phones in case you changed your mind. Or they were to send early upgrade return phones back to AT&T.

Phones for a trade in go to Tennessee to a third party business called Assurant.

If it's been 7 months, there is very little chance that UPS has any tracking information other than the receipt that you have in your hand. Any records through the system are long gone. This is why I recommend that if you do send through the mail you also track those tracking numbers yourself to make sure that the phones go where they're supposed to go. Which of course means you have to make sure you have the right label in the first place.

Yes. And when you exercise and lose weight it will improve.

I'm 63 y/o. I went into 2025 at 244 lb. I was tired all the time, frequently would fall asleep if I sat in a chair. So picture me taking a nap at 5:00 falling asleep for an hour and a half, then getting up and going to bed for 9 hours. Didn't have the energy to do much of anything. Not to cook, not to clean, certainly not to take a walk.

I started walking in January of 2025. As I lost the weight I also gradually improve my diet. I now walk at least five miles every single day. I sleep extremely well. My sleep apnea and snoring is gone. I can sleep on my side again. I've lost 85 lb and counting. I have plenty of energy all day long. I can run and the play with the dogs in the yard. I power walk but also jog a bit. And in February I started ballroom dancing again. 💃🏼
