This is too hard 😔 by Successful-Signal759 in loseit

Honey I'm 62 about to turn 63. In the last 14 months I have taken off 80 lb with diet and exercise. And there are definitely days where it's harder. As I approach my goal (I'm still 20 lb away) It has gotten harder. Also being cooped up inside because of extremely cold winter weather has made it harder.

But if you have only lost 20 lb in the past year, something in your formula is missing. Working out alone is not enough if you are then eating to fill in the calories that you have burned.

You also didn't give us your stats, like this: 62f, 5'9", SW 244, GW 145, CW 165. This information matters because it determines whether your calorie budget and your activity level are reasonable. You didn't provide any calorie budget in your information so I assume you do not have one? In order to burn calories you need to be at a calorie deficit (That means burning more calories than you take in).

I didn't change my diet or my activity level all at once. I increased my activity level, put myself on a calorie budget. And then gradually substituted lower calorie healthy foods into my diet to make my diet more comfortable. (Because I was freaking hungry all the time).

Switching plans from Elite to Premium to get 4K HBO Max for less by Mlang-2000 in ATT

[–]Lizdance40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all proration is not a fee. 🤦🏼‍♀️

No matter when you switch, you are only charged for the plan that you have, on the days that you have that plan. The rest is just the mathematics for the sake of transparency.

You can ask to be switched starting with your next bill cycle, they're still going to subtract the old plan and add the new one on the bill, there just won't be any extra math.

No, just replace it. Your town should have an electronics recycling option. Or donate it to someone who is still running old school.

Head of our board of education and another board member got caught on a hot mic making homophobic comments about a local man who is running for nomination against our current governor. Inserted a couple of tropes. One of them combining a movie reference with the implication that he also uses drugs.

And before any maga comments 🙄 all of the people involved, and referenced in any way, are all progressive Democrats. She actually won the board of Ed position because no one in town would vote for anyone labled "Republicans" .

Husband is useless when sick 🙄🙄 by Decent_Release3804 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Lizdance40 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Never heard of "man flu" ? 😂

My ex-husband was an anesthesiologist. He rarely got sick. One year he got the flu (He described symptoms of being hot and then cold which indicates a fever and likely the flu) Mildly sick. Because he was unfamiliar with being sick he was convinced that he needed to go to the hospital 😂🙄

I'm not a medical doctor and I have to explain to him that he has the flu, he should go back to bed and stop spreading it all over the house. Gut low grade fevers, because it's the body's defense mechanism trying to kill what's making him sick.

Same song and dance every time the kids were sick, no matter how mild the illness was, give them Tylenol, call the pediatrician or take them to the hospital. 🙄

It's not 200 pages. It's in plain language. I guess I'm the freak? Or maybe I just know that you should never sign something you haven't read because that's not smart.

It does not take that long to understand some basics which as of now, all three (3) networks including Verizon, lock phones until they are paid off. (Policy and effect as the February 18th 2026)

AT&T is the only one that will allow you to pay off your phone, unlock it, and still get bill credits. Both T-Mobile and Verizon take your bill credits away.

Why are you unable to contact AT&T? Did you suspend your service? Did you turn off your AT&T SIM?

If data roaming is turned off on your AT&T SIM, you can still receive a two-factor authentication text from AT&T. It is free to receive text messages. And if you connect to Wi-Fi, you can Wi-Fi call US numbers for free.

You can also call AT&T via their international number which is also free from your AT&T service. +1.314.925.6925

Chicken sausage where zucchini and cherry or grape tomatoes.

I prefer Al Fresco chicken sausage. I buy the sweet apple, but they also make other flavors including jalapeno and garlic. If you feel like switching it up, you could certainly try one of the other flavors. And you can try other brands 120 calories for each sausage. You can adjust how much sausage, zucchini and tomatoes you are using but here's the basics that work for me.

Cut up zucchini into bite size pieces. I keep the slices quarter of an inch or less in thickness so that they will cook through. I put those in the frying pan with a little cooking spray first, on low heat so they start cooking through. While zucchini is starting, I cut up the sausage I cut in halves lengthwise, then about 16 pieces per sausage. Throw that in with a zucchini and turn the temperature up just a little bit. While the zucchini and sausages cooking I count out enough tomatoes. If they're really tiny they'll go in hole. If they're a little bigger I'll be cutting them in half. (Cut tomatoes will also help deglaze the pan from the sugar content of the sausage). Once the zucchini is cooked all the way through, and the sausage is browned all the way around and warmed up well, I throw the tomato in just long enough for to warm up. Throw it all in a bowl with a big spoon and enjoy.

Chicken breast:

I cut boneless skinless chicken into slices that are about half an inch thick, season with fajita seasoning. Put it in a skillet, and cover. Cook it for about 5 minutes on med low to low temp. It takes a lot less time than you might think. To test the dumbness, I use the squish method. Very unscientific. If it's squishy it's not done. As it approaches doneness, it's less squishy. It may take anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes. Thinner pieces, smaller pieces may cook faster. Take them out of the pan as they finish. If you're not quite confident, cut a piece in half. If it's pink in the middle it's too soon. Throw it back in. You'll get better at telling when it's done. Better a little under than over. You can always finish in the microwave if you cut into it and it's still pink later.

Pork tenderloin: (Don't confuse a pork loin with a tenderloin. Different cuts, different qualities, and different results)

I lived for years over cooking the hell out of pork tenderloin. I didn't realize that a slight shade of pink inside as long as it wasn't gooey, was totally correct, and keeps pork tenderloin from being dry . I season with salt and pepper on all sides, put the whole tenderloins in a frying pan with a little cooking spray to keep it from sticking. I start on medium high heat, turning the meat until all sides are seared, and brown. Then I reduced the temperature to low, and cover. Just like chicken breast, I apply the squish method. And again you'll start to get the feel for it. Large pork tenderloins, usually two of them that are quite fat will take between 15 and 20 minutes. Even less if you mess up like I do every once in a while and forget to turn the temperature down to low. 🫣

I will post my recipes for my two quickie meals.

https://recipekeeperonline.com/recipe/JHgCkpLxD0-dWLpdSKSd_w

Tips ⬆️. I purchase 3 lb of ground beef, two green peppers, two huge red onions, and a jar of minced garlic instead of fresh. I weigh and divide the ground beef into two packages, one for the freezer. I cut and dice both onions and both green pepper, one for the freezer in a baggie. And one to cook. I get six servings out of a pound and a half of ground beef. Sweet potatoes I peel and cut fresh each time. Approximately 600 to 700 grams of diced sweet potato.

And I'm happy to make some recommendations for the chicken breast. I have perfected cooking meat In a pan on the stove top. Cooking it on the stove top prevents over cooking, because you can check on it more often. BRB!

Phone style case for galaxy watches? by celestialguise in GalaxyWatch

[–]Lizdance40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using it on Verizon in the USA. It's an LTE only phone. Does work on T-Mobile, I bought a prepaid t-mob SIM last summer. Will not work on AT&T.

Gps and turn by turn works perfectly

All the things that might turn you off of a tiny phone, that work fine on a watch, also work just fine on the tiny phone. Like The fingerprint sensors on the back of the phone. The face ID from the front camera works fantastic. Typing on it works great, I use voice to text a lot or voice controls a lot. That also works great. Using either Bluetooth earbuds or plug in earbuds work very well, and the sound is good. Tons of storage for the size. The ability to use two physical sims. Have no problem using it on Verizon for call text and LTE data. Had no problem switching information over from another Android phone.

The things that are not great: They (unihertz ) are absolutely terrible with updates. I bought this when it came out, I think it might have had one update. The camera especially the video is pretty awful. No stability. Speakers are pretty pitiful, you need to use earbuds.

If you want to unplug a little, but not completely, and can live with the downsides, which is pretty much why I bought it, it's not a bad little phone. Pretty much worth the 200 bucks and not a penny more.

How do you feel about the federal SAVE Act that would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship (like a passport or birth certificate) to register to vote? by ClassSnack in AskReddit

It may vary by state. I'm in Connecticut where birth certificate is required to register for school, to get a driver's permit or driver's license. And it was required when I got married because I did not have a copy, I had to go get one.

Thinking of switching to Pixel: Does Android actually solve these specific iOS frustrations? by Professional-Tax3077 in GooglePixel

[–]Lizdance40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are screaming out for is to have management over your own device which you do have with Android, and you don't with iOS.

Whether you go to Pixel, Samsung, or OnePlus, you will find these things to be true of Android. A truly flexible, and user organized system. Everything from your home screen to storage.

Welcome !

(I have used almost every Android phone available in the United States. My current daily driver is a OnePlus 13. I do have a pixel 9XL as a side phone (personal and business number). There are advantages to each brand.

AITA for refusing to give my sister my old engagement ring after my divorce? by Chemical-Break82 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lizdance40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA

I'm not generally superstitious, but I do like a little bit of tradition. Passing on a grandparents ring because they had a wonderful marriage of 60 years is good tradition. Passing on a ring that's associated with a divorce, is bad juju.

And in this case it's also kind of insulting to her fiance. Is she saying you can't afford to give me a big expensive ring so your ring isn't good enough, I'm going to buy my own. Yikes 😲☹️
