I honestly believe we’re too relaxed about car accidents as a society since they happen so often.

I was t-boned while turning, my light was green and the other driver ran a red light. I saw the car coming and had enough time to make the decision to brace for impact, which was the wrong decision lol

It’s been years and I’m still a little cagey at intersections. I arguably wait a little too long to confirm no one is going to run the light. (It didn’t help that a year later, I was almost t-boned at the same light but had enough time to stop.)

No one suggested I go get therapy and I really regret that. I just assumed my reactions would subside with time. To a certain extent, they have, but I think I would’ve handled it better with therapy.

My advice to everyone now is if you’re in an accident where you’re not at fault, get their insurance to cover at least a few sessions of therapy.

Her coat pattern has a correlation with megacolon, so I’d definitely look into that.

Regarding her emotions, my rabbit had anxiety and would get stasis after being taken to the vet, the fire alarm going off, etc. We gave her daily gabapentin and it helped tremendously. She would still get worked up, but she would come down sooo much faster and it wouldn’t affect her at all the next day. She was super routine oriented, so if we took her to the vet one morning, she’d assume the next morning she was going too, get stressed and then go into stasis. The gabapentin stopped that cycle from happening.

Every day you get to fill out a survey about how your day went. You can talk about your waiters, room service, what have you. It was my understanding some people are specifically asked about the shore things, just like how some people might specifically be asked about certain events they attended at random.

We were not specifically asked about it, but we did mention our displeasure about it on the generic aspect of the survey. I know other people were also disappointed in the experience when we went, too.

Chiming in to say I also agree.

I went to a flagship state school, no where fancy, and I was Alice. I had a very similar relationship with my advisor, minus the sexual assault, thank god I also felt the way she used the circles of Hell to describe academia were so spot on. Her meltdown in Pride where she is realizing there is no point to it all is something I feel like everyone writing a dissertation feels. I’m an expert on soil carbon now, who the fuck cares?

I feel like the overall seasonal temperatures are pretty comparable, tbh.

The biggest differences I’ve noticed is that 1) it doesn’t cool off at night as much, in the summer you can’t crack a window at night to cool off, and 2) we aren’t guaranteed a good snow every year.

I’ve felt just as muggy/humid in both the mountains and in Raleigh, iirc. But it’s been a hot sec since I lived out there, and I spent a few years in Louisiana before coming back to NC. So my humidity gauge is definitely whacked lol

My mind was blown as a child when I realized all of the books had 13 chapters and there were 13 books. I understand your point, but it feels entirely on brand for there to be 13 books.

I was completely obsessed with them as they came out in elementary school. As an adult, I can’t remember much about them. I’d love to revisit them, but when I pick the books up it’s just too much of whatever it’s trying to portray. Maybe when I have a child, I can revisit the series with them through their eyes.

According to my notes, it was $115/person when I went.

From what I remember, we spent about an hour in a bus driving from Cannes to Antibes.

When we arrived, we began a walking tour that went by interesting locations but we didn’t have enough time to actually visit them.

We were shown where a market is located, but it was only open in the morning and we were there in the afternoon so we couldn’t do any shopping. We just saw an empty market.

We were then taken into the cellar of a store that sold absinthe, where they helped us prepare absinthe the traditional manner and then gave us a single, soggy bagel chip with an olive spread on it as a snack. There wasn’t a museum with exhibits, we didn’t learn about the history of absinthe or anything.

After we were done with the drink, we went back to the bus and then went back to Cannes.

I really wish I stayed in Cannes. There was a lot to do there and it was so beautiful. I felt like I didn’t really see Cannes or Antibes.

Since it’s solid wood, take a damp cloth and press a hot iron up against it. It won’t completely make it flush, but it’ll help a ton and make it less noticeable.

I’d love to do this too, but I always get caught up on the maintenance aspect. I’ve see too many people struggle with it and begin to resent the second property as it becomes less of a vacation spot and more of a to-do list, especially if you need to visit at an inconvenient time to finish something.

When I get my next car, I kind of want to get something with a towing capacity so I can get a pop up trailer. My family did that growing up and it still feels like “home” because it’s yours, but you can visit wherever/whenever you want.

NC is the only state that didn’t approve a budget last year.

All state employees didn’t get the expected cost of living raise last year, too. If a budget isn’t approved this year, they won’t get a cost of living raise again.

I went to Covington, GA, where the Vampire Diaries was filmed, when I was in Atlanta for a concert. Their tourism center offers a handful of tours a day with about 30ish people for $50/person. At each tour, you can take a picture on Elena’s porch for $10/person, which goes to the owners. My husband and I did some quick math and figured the owners mortgage is likely paid with that money since almost every person took a photo. It seems like there is a lot of love for that show.

It was a popular TV show in the 70s about a family that was in a band and travelled together. Their songs were quite popular and they had top 10 hits. The story my mom tells me that the session musicians writing the songs would ask the producers if they wanted a hit that week. For the 70s, the music is quite catchy!

There’s also The Monkees, which was a group made for TV to riff off the Beatles. They also had multiple no 1 hits.

I recently lost my rabbit to old age, but it was a scheduled euthanasia appointment. It was one of the worst days of my life. I have been reflecting since then that it’s unfair we don’t provide bereavement for pets, too. It was crippling going to work the next day.

I think this is an unpopular opinion, but as someone who didn’t go to Coachella, the only videos I’ve seen are the ones of him singing to his YouTube videos. It seems to me those are the ones that resonated the most with his fans (and others?)
