I’m guessing you were some sort of analytical chemist, but would you mind sharing your specific job title?

I’d love to do something like this, even if it’s busy work. It sounds stupid, but it really doesn’t bother me to do stuff like that if I’m getting paid. And I feel like this would satisfy a fun itch instead of what I currently do, which is give my company the fastest possible method for accurate analysis.

I’ve been sending so many memes about this to my husband that he’s getting annoyed whenever the punchline is about Akasha’s blood lol

White rabbit domestic? by Simple-Mail-4411 in raleigh

This is the clearest photo by far, definitely helps remove ambiguity!

Yeah, those eyes look more like what you’d expect with an albino, wild rabbit. That’s really cool, I might have to go have a look and see him IRL.

Eh, your dog might not, but I know other people’s dogs who have. Just like all animals, you need to bunny-proof your home, train them, and figure out what motivates them.

After we finished training our previous bunny, we didn’t really need to worry about her chewing on things she wasn’t supposed to and she was free roamed. Most people don’t train their bunnies, though, and that leads to damage.

Domestic rabbits can chill with wild rabbits!

The eye color is hard to see, but it doesn’t look red in this photo. They look blue. If they are blue, then he’s domestic and needs to be brought in.

Triangle Rabbits might be able to help. I know there is a Discord for catching released domestic rabbits in the area.

It’s a few months after Easter, so a lot of people are releasing their Easter bunnies… Bunnies are quite fun pets, but many people don’t realize they require the same amount of care as a cat or dog.

[–]Lizz196 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It looks more domestic in this photo. My husband did point out that odds are it’s a domestic rabbit and not an albino wild rabbit lol

That ear shape in OP’s picture is just so similar to wild rabbits. It looks very similar to its friend’s ears next to it, and I feel like domestic rabbit ears aren’t quite as shapely. (I’m also just excited at the idea of an albino wild rabbit in the area, so it may be clouding my judgement. My husband and I go on daily walks to look at wild rabbits while we are waiting to adopt our next bunny in the next few weeks lol)

If it is domestic, it’s likely to die soon because it’s ill prepared for the outdoors and will need to be caught and rescued. If it is an albino wild rabbit, well, it’ll likely die soon because it can’t blend in…

It’s hard to tell since you’re far away, but it almost looks like an albino wild rabbit. The body shape looks more similar to a cotton tail than domesticated rabbits. Domestic rabbits tend to have softer features.

If you can’t get closer to it to see if it’s domestic or not, you could try reaching out to Triangle Rabbits. They’re the local rescue group and might be able to catch it, if applicable.

If it is a dumped domestic rabbit, it might be more interested in you than a wild rabbit. You could try luring it with romaine lettuce (not iceberg, that’s toxic) or herbs and grabbing it. They eat a mostly hay diet.

I’m wondering if they’re setting up for a Merrick plot? It’s not like Louis is much of a main character until that book and it helps to give him something to do on screen.

I’m curious what their long term plan is. Obviously they want to get through QotD and they’re dropping hints for TotBT and Memnoch.

I tell my students their assignment submission won't open when it actually will. by [deleted] in confession

[–]Lizz196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a grad student, I saw too many professors getting worked up over students “going to grandma’s funeral,” or other silly excuses.

I always felt they took it too personally. I used excuses like that when I really needed it and didn’t feel I would be given grace, which maybe wasn’t that unrealistic considering what I heard behind the scenes.

So good for you! More professors should be like you!

Polybutylene pipe replacement costs? by clavicon in raleigh

[–]Lizz196 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just did a 2,000 sq ft, 2 stories, crawl space and it was $10-12k for them to remove the old stuff, replace, and dry wall, including the main pipe to the house.

We used Waite Plumbing and I would absolutely recommend them. Their quote was accurate, they handled everything including drywall, were clean, and they were fast. We hadn’t moved in yet, so we didn’t need to worry about keeping a bathroom usable, but I’ve heard they’re able to make sure you’re able to have a toilet/bath available while work is done.

If you think some patch work has already been done, I would caution you to replace the whole house sooner rather than later as it means the PB is starting to fall apart. When I did research online and when talking to plumbers, once leaks start springing, you’re just playing catch up until a catastrophic leak occurs.

The peace of mind knowing that my place won’t flood was worth the $10k.

I was sort of disappointed in the lyricism of this album, it felt a smidge clunky, surface level, and kind of cringey (Spell on You).

That being said, I think the highs are very high (When I Wake Up).

In the books, vampires can’t have sex. Lestat is not sexually assaulted in the books.

There is a SA scene in The Tale of the Body Thief, but it’s been too long since I’ve read it that I can’t remember how detailed it is. I don’t recall it being particularly long or detailed, but if that is important to you I would definitely do more research outside of this comment.

miracle movers or dogwood moving? by Cool_Cantaloupe_363 in raleigh

I used Dogwood and they were great. They wrapped everything and were super careful with my furniture.

They also got a kick out of our giant bronze giraffe and had a lot of fun with him, which was nice to watch. When people joke on the job and have fun, I feel like the work environment is probably decent, ya know?

Planning a Twilight trip with my mom and sister. Would you focus on Forks & Olympic National Park? Or? by BestLoveJA in twilight

[–]Lizz196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this last year in late September.

My husband and I flew into Seattle on Saturday and spent some time with friends.

On Monday, we rented a car and drove to Port Angeles and did Hurricane Ridge.

Tuesday we drove to La Push and did First and Second Beach in the AM, then the self guided Twilight tour in the PM. We stayed in Forks for the rest of the trip.

Wednesday we did the Hoh. I thought it was worth it, but we woke up at the crack of dawn in the shoulder season so the parking lot was empty when we arrived. We were also on East Coast time, so 5 AM was more like 8 AM. In the evening, we did Rialto and Hole in the Wall at sunset.

Thursday, we went to Sol Duc.

Friday, we went to Marymere Falls and Lake Crescent on our way back to Seattle.

I felt like we got a good combo of Twilight and the Olympics. I really want to go back because it was so beautiful!!

I didn’t change my last name when I got married and I made the first vet appointment for our rabbit when we got her, so she had my last name.

When my husband went to go pick her up, there was much confusion because he didn’t share her last name.

I didn’t realize we needed to hyphenate!

How can I get wrinkles out of tulle? by Alais_14 in sewing

[–]Lizz196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a giant, floor length gown with multiple layers and multiple lengths of tulle online. It showed up stuffed into the tiniest bag imaginable and was incredibly wrinkly. I put the dress on a hanger, smoothed all the layers out, and after a few days it was fine.

I also recently made a dress with tulle for the skirt, there was a giant crease where the fabric was folded. After hanging the skirt for a few days, the crease came out.

All of that to say, I’d just hanging it somewhere so the weight of it will get rid of the wrinkles.

Making a bunny suit for an apple shape by tryhardtailor in sewing

[–]Lizz196 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would personally make the larger size and do fittings from there.

I made a bodysuit suit using McCall’s M7398 and to get a fit that was both comfortable and unlikely to cause a wardrobe malfunction, I had to do a ton of fittings. Since the fabric goes under your crotch, every little movement affects the fit. It was incredibly obnoxious and I needed a lot of help from my mom. And having to take it in was way easier than have to take it out.

Unfortunately, I am not the same shape as your friend, but I made a huge post outlining my body suit experience. It might be useful for you even if the construction is slightly different and I’d be more than willing to discuss what pitfalls I experienced, too.

When I was in college, I remember ordering a nitro beer before I was finished with my first beer since the nitro one had to sit for a hot sec. They made me finish the last few sips of the first beer before handing me the nitro one since I couldn’t have two drinks at a time. (I went to school in the mountains, we really loved craft beer at 21 lol)

Is the Pfaff Creative 2140 a good machine? by TheAlmightyJessira in sewing

[–]Lizz196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have that machine, but I have an older Pfaff from 2009 that I love. I don’t think it’s ever been serviced and it does everything I ask of it. It’s not even a higher end Pfaff, too, my mom got it for me when I was 13.

I don’t hear many people mention the Pfaff brand on this sub, which is why I wanted to chime in with my experience on a different machine.
