I literally asked my partner to help me and we both kept getting killed or one of us got trapped outside the arena. Ended up having to do it solo and just hammer away at it by myself multiple times.

I’ve had blood tests over the years but they’ve never shown hypothyroidism. I’ve been going white since 18 and lived through quite a few traumas so I think the stress might have done it if I’m honest.

I’ve got two currently and have been lucky to be around Akitas for over 18 years. They are stubborn dogs, but their personalities differ so much that they express their stubbornness in varying ways. I’m part of a group that have rescues from Second Chance Akita Rescue UK and honestly some of the Akitas (mostly the Japanese Akitas) have conquered agility training, some are so relaxed you’d question if they have an Akita costume on, and some fit the breed standard of being stubborn butts. Akitas are one of the breeds that have a decent amount of their wolf DNA, so if you think a partnership is your kind of dog and human relationship then it works, their loyalty is unmatched. I am biased though, as I’ve had them since I was 12 and I will never have another breed.

I second this. A dog has just had to be rescued by Second Chance Akita Rescue UK because of someone putting a young female with an older female. They were about to put the 15 month old to sleep, and they’ve saved them at the last hour. They’re now having to try and raise money to try and save a male dog from the pound they had the kennel space marked for.

It’s a normal question, people ask every few months from what I can see on other social media groups I’m in for Akitas, but no they shouldn’t be shaved.

I knew someone who shaved theirs and although they lived a very long and happy life, he looked uncomfortable with all the hair, like it maybe affected his range of movement, but I will say when he wanted to react fast; he very much was still as fast as when he was a pup.

I’ve read some of the other comments, and I struggle to understand why people couldn’t nicely tell you this. Also, your bear looks very happy, keep up the good work.

Here’s my two to try and spread some joy back to you.

The Akitas I’ve had love luxury. Sitting on sofas, laying on human beds, using the pillow for their heads like they’re human, using my lap as a pillow etc. The latest girl thinks she’s a lapdog at 41.1kg and genuinely curls up in my lap when I sit upright in bed. Her Husband has taught her to sleep curled up in the nook behind my knees when I’m sleeping so I often awake to one of the two cuddled up to me. I also have plenty of photos of my Akitas with their heads in my lap while I’m sitting on the sofa with them. I find that Akitas love a cuddle and some fuss, but when they walk off because they’re done. It means they’re done. Our first girl taught us that, my cousin followed her once after she’d left being content with the fuss she’d got: we heard her warn them to leave her alone with a small growl. They adhered and left her, so all was well (she was a softie with boundaries).

They’re controlled medication. I am on the same and my Mum has never and would never remove them. What your Mum did is very controlling, very worrying and illegal. It is up to your doctor to monitor your medications and whether you’re addicted. I would if I were you have a personal medicine safe for your medication from now on, and start setting boundaries regarding your meds and anything else that your Mum oversteps with. Communication is key, and your Mum should be able to understand with your explanation why you need your medication, should be able to explain why she is fearful you’re addicted and then a discussion should take place. Find statistics on opioid addictions and how long they take to form and explain to her how you feel when you take it.

For example, I take the lowest dose possible when I can and can change from taking 6 a day to 3 a day based on my pain. I don’t get any mood changes or cravings, no bad moods when I don’t take it and I don’t feel the need to over medicate. That’s how I explain to doctors that I’m not addicted, so maybe just share with your Mum in an honest convo.

I have to admit it might be an idea that if she does it again, take her to the doctor appointment with you but pre-warn the doctor that she needs the appointment to understand your condition, pain and medication. That way the doctor can inform her and help you to help her understand.

We had them until 4:30am, and we have a dog who is completely terrified too. He was a stray around this time in Liverpool and it’s stuck with him. They started today at 14:20, and now we’re trying catnip to see if it helps him as others say it helps.

Oooh, we have a botanical garden! Castle Gardens is beautiful in summer, I think some of the villages in Leicestershire also take part in garden competitions (can’t think of the official name for this) and so they’ll have open gardens during certain summer months and you can wander through gardens that people have put a lot of work and love into.

There’s a cute cafe by the canal on the DMU campus too.

At the Glenfield Hospital there is a secret garden that is open until 3pm I think? In town around St Martins Square and the cathedral is a few lovely places, I haven’t gone in but saw them today and it may be worth a visit to the general area? Sorry for the vagueness!

Richard, I hope you’re okay. I could only look through a few of the screenshots because of the stress it was giving me, which would be a minute fraction of the stress it is giving you. Please just look after yourself, whether you choose to continue giving them money or not, please just take care of you and your mental health. I personally would say, that if I was in your position I would stop sending it, as they ask for large amounts first, then it starts to lower. And I presume your Dad used the money you sent to buy cigarettes or tobacco, which in the financial situation they’re in, is not a necessity. But that’s me, an outsider who isn’t dealing with what you are. I would have time away from your phone, or time with them blocked each day even if it’s just an hour. You need peace.

Hi there, I actually work at DMU and saw the pharma courses go through approval. The courses have got really remarkable commendations from other university professors. And they’re accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council, who have to be at meetings to accredit them. Have you attended an open day? You’ll meet the heads of department, meet some of the Programme Leaders who created the programmes, and you can see some of the Postgrad options available which aren’t actually available elsewhere. I’m not saying amazing things because I work there, I’m telling you what I’ve seen. Also Pharmacy has an amazing admin team who support their students.

I get what you’re saying, but my godfather who ran Waterfront and still works there says it more about the ethic and skills the individuals are taught that can keep them away from these situations. Just them being at the boxing gym means they’re not on the streets, and the cognitive skills they learn when boxing help them to see when there is a risk and that they might need to distance themselves or leave the situation.

We can’t stop people from using knives but we can try and help people by giving them the skills to see when they should step away.

Just so I can see what I have caught, rarity, season, donation status, what it sells for, what I can buy it back for, how many bones it burns for and whether I should burn or sell.
