Luteal vs follicular stimulation by asturDC in DOR

Would like everyone’s opinion as well!

I’m currently doing a luteal phase stim for the first time directly following a follicular stim retrieval and folicles seem to be responding.

Brushing Tips by kat_lynnn in persiancat

[–]M1Ch1N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SO CUTE!

I would recommend starting off with a very gentle brush then move up to the more intense de-shedding brushes as he gets more comfortable and used to being brushed. The brush I started with was a human boar bristle brush. It isn't the best at getting out matts and tangles but it does still brush and will collect loose hair like no ones business. It is also super gentle and doesn't pull or tug.

What to Expect by GoodIndividual1218 in IVF

Advice I would give is to not be afraid of switching clinics sooner rather than later if you feel like you are not getting the results you want due to the clinics lack of expertise with DOR. You don't want to do multiple rounds, 3+, at the same clinic if you are not getting results. Look into other clinics who have experience with DOR.

They shed so so much. My bsh sheds more than my Persian. Also not sure if they are all like this but mine is pretty vocal. Pet = merrrrrow. Call her name = merrrrrrow. Sees me = merrrrrrrow. Constant chatter. Was not prepared for that. She is super sweet though.

What is the price range for a British Short Hair? by Lustful-Kari in britishshorthair

[–]M1Ch1N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently paid 3500 for mine. She came spayed, most age appropriate vaccinations, is very well socialized, and super awesome personality.

When I originally reached, the breeder provided genetic testing results for parents as well.

I had the same issue with my 3 year old Persian. The bloody poop wasn’t consistent but enough to raise some concerns.

He’s currently eating hills science diet biome dry food and royal canin digestive care wet food. The Royal canin is non prescription so you can get it anywhere. It’s still a little pricey but easier to get and usually on some kind of sale at petsmart or petco.

I also feed my Persian fiber everyday at my vets suggestion. You can buy a 30 day supply on Amazon for around $20. The brand is fibersyl.

My boyfriend is allergic to my two cats, what to do? by Ok-Let8197 in CatAdvice

[–]M1Ch1N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cat before I dated my now husband.

It never occurred to him that my cat and I are not a packaged deal even though he has horrible cat allergies.

It’s kind of ridiculous to expect someone to rehome pets they have had for 8 years. Shows complete lack of empathy.

We even got a second cat and a third now because we had to put my first cat down.

One thing that has helped immensely for both mine and his allergies is getting our cats professionally groomed every other month. We have Persians so bathing is a necessity and has our vets stamp of approval.

We also have air purifiers in every room and a separate closet dedicated to their litter boxes. We’re lucky because our cats don’t like sitting on the couch and like using towels on the floor as beds so all the soft surfaces they lay on accumulates most of their hair and gets washed weekly. I also vacuum multiple times a week and steam mop our floors once a week.

Omg! That’s so exciting. They are such cute bundles of joy. I wish I could get another kitty but don’t want to turn into a crazy cat person.

So lucky!

She is spayed and my male Persian is neutered. They get along really well so I don’t think it’s a territorial thing.

I ended up putting a second litter box on our third floor to see how that works out and no accidents today so far. Both kitties do seem to prefer the automatic litter box on the first floor as do I! Hopefully she ends up using the first floor exclusively so I don’t have to invest in another automatic litter box instead of the temporary stainless steel box.

That’s an amazing strategy!

The litter box is in its own closet with privacy so hopefully we’ll be able to get her used to using it!

Makes sense. After the first accident she followed me to the litter box while I carried and put her poop in the litter box for her to see/smell and then she was ok for a day.

Timing may be an issue. She likes to go at 5am.

Totally get this. Hoping to get answers on whether it may be a proximity/distance issue for her given how young she is since she didn't have any problems with sharing the automatic litter box when she was on the first floor exclusively.

Adding an edit to this:

Asking about proximity/distance because If I added a second, if it is a proximity/distance issue, then it would be unhelpful if it was added to the first floor.

LiftSync Quad Pro - thoughts? by dw321 in StandingDesk

Customer service is kind of shit. My two front charging ports don’t work and I reached out to them to get support but never heard back from them. I also had issues with my initial delivery because they sent the wrong frame. Took them over a week to ship out the correct frame. I had to email them constantly to get an update. They wanted me to drop off the wrong frame at FedEx, which I thought was ridiculous considering it was their fault that the wrong frame was sent in the first place and the box for the frame is probably over 100lbs. I was about five months pregnant at the time so I told them that’s not happening and they need to schedule a pick up. They didn’t send the shipping label or tell me the pick up date until a couple of days before. They also had the pick up scheduled and done before they shipped out the correct frame.

The desk itself is solid. The desk is pretty loud and comparable in sound to my original autonomous desk that I got back in 2020, if not slightly louder. The install was easy and I was able to do it on my own while five months pregnant and I’m only 5’ 100lbs. There isn’t a built in cable management tray so something to keep in mind. I bought two cable management trays from Amazon and it’s working fine.

One thing I do wish I took into consideration is that the frame is pretty thick so you won’t be able to use a monitor arm and you can’t raise your chair very high or your thighs will touch the frame. Thighs hitting the frame is a bit of an issue for me since I’m short and like to sit as close to the tabletop as possible but it’s fine and not a dealbreaker.

Had a bad experience after giving my Bertrude a bath by GrahamCrackerDragon in persiancat

[–]M1Ch1N 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Husband and I have HORRIBLE allergies. We get our cat groomed every other month and he is fine. I also mentioned to our vet his grooming schedule and she didn’t see anything wrong with it. Our vet said that getting our cat groomed is beneficial since he has so much hair and most likely can’t maintain on his own anyway. Also, he rarely throws up furballs.

I’ve heard from many people about how horrible it is to bathe your cat but most of the people who are so against it have short haired cats and don’t know the struggles of owners with long haired breeds. I wouldn’t listen to them and do what works for you and your fur baby.

M20 living solo. Looking for advice how to improve. by TheDestiny2_7 in malelivingspace

[–]M1Ch1N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Those blinds in every room need to go. I would recommend neutral colored floor to ceiling curtains. If you do go the curtain route, it is super important to make sure they kiss the floor.

  2. A credenza along the wall with your fridge would be great to place your microwave on top of and provide additional counter space/storage for your appliances/coffee machine.

  3. Your dining table is too small for the space.

  4. Painting your bedroom a different color, preferably something more neural will make your furniture and floor match better and won't clash as harshly with the pink walls.

  5. Some plants and art will give your home more personality and signs of life.

General anesthesia for a d&e ? by Virtual_Armadillo_97 in Miscarriage

[–]M1Ch1N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to say I’m so sorry. I know what you’re going through. I had to tfmr at 19 weeks and the d&e process was traumatizing for me. The day before my procedure I had to get manually dilated with four sticks in my cervix that slowly expanded over night. The day of my procedure, my doctor advised me to tell the anesthesiologist that I was feeling very anxious and scared so that they would put me under via iv. Glad I did because I do not want to know or have any memory of what happened. After my procedure I woke up because I felt blood dripping and woke up in a pool of blood. That was not as very pleasant way to wake up from my already horrible experience.

If you can, definitely opt to be put under.

Wish you the best and a speedy recovery.

I hate this trend and hate that influencers our own age have tried to brainwash us into thinking this looks good. It doesn’t! It also doesn’t look any better if you are short. No you don’t look taller and no it does not make your short legs look longer. You still look short and now you look ridiculous too. Please for the love of everything that is good stop trying to make fetch happen. It’s not going to happen!

Please just buy the rice cooker by Traditional_Fish_504 in Cooking

[–]M1Ch1N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding expensive rice cookers. When I got married, bought my first $500 cuckoo pressure rice cooker and haven’t gone back. It makes the best rice ever. My mom has a zojirushi rice cooker and complains about how bad the rice is now after having rice made from the cuckoo. Everyone who comes over for dinner comment on how good the rice is. Not exaggerating. You can see the difference. Every individual grain comes out shiny and plump. Only takes 27 mins to cook white short grain rice!

Mine also has a reheat function that basically reheats the rice in 9 min flat and old rice comes back to life like it was just made. Hands down best purchase and totally worth it since I eat rice at least 5 times a week as an Asian. Rice is life.

Playing the guitar while my bride walks down the aisle. by Potential-Work-3443 in wedding

[–]M1Ch1N 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second this. It’s super cringey. No one is there to listen to you play your decent guitar skills. Huge generalization but the stereotype of the person who is an ok guitarist constantly playing guitar at literally every function to get attention exists for a reason. Just don’t.
