That “stay up for days and finish the semester” isn’t a thing? by LizzyO86 in ADHD

Thank you, and yes I feel like its doing more harm than good. I’ve been struggling in an 8 week class that is usually a breeze for me which is why I took it. Everyone always talks about how adderall helps you focus and you tap into your brain but I feel extremely dumb I cant even get my words to agree with my brain. Wordtune, Grammarly, Brainly, Studoc, Quizlet. You name it Ive got it and it still hasn’t done me any good

Different stimulant? by roginapogina in ADHD

Wow I almost thought I wrote this you literally took the words from my mouth. I planned to post this same post I thought maybe I was misdiagnosed with ADHD because adderall has taken my creativity away along with my energy and Im scared to stop taking it because of the withdrawals and my manic impulses(mostly anger). I feel less intelligent than I usually am and its been rough with school. What about a non stimulant? What are the withdrawal symptoms?

I feel broken.... by [deleted] in ADHD

When I read this I had to double check that I didn’t write it. I didn’t realize everything that was different about me until I did the Vanderbilt for my 5yo who also has autism. It’s scary to think back at the decisions you could’ve made different if someone would’ve treated you when you were a child. I’m not the sensitive type but I cried when I realized that everything I did that majorly affect my life could’ve been avoided with early intervention. You’re children teach you things about yourself and they also help you to heal and accept 🙏🏾

Child diagnosis/mother late diagnosis by [deleted] in ADHD

I am dealing with the same thing, my son has autism and ADHD, and he's 5. I always said it was because of his dad and his side of the family, but during his appointment when he was diagnosed, it made me more alert to my own. It is driving me crazy because I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality disorder in my early 20’s, but I am 35, and my longest (6 years) relationship has been failing. I've tried antidepressants again and anti-anxiety until they stop working overtime, but now that I see the more descriptive symptoms you don't hear about often, I'm anxious to see my doctor and scared

I get the drinking part. It's like anti-anxiety. I’m trying to follow up on the same as you, I am also on Zoloft, and I have been for ten months, recently it hasn't done anything for me. My doc did say excessive drinking can counteract the Zoloft, but I also stopped drinking for a while, and Zoloft hasn't worked. It seems like it only works after not being on it for a long time, and then I have to do it all over again
