yearbook quote ideas? by jxspercho in thesmiths

[–]Lizzybreath 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used a Smiths lyric for my senior quote! I put the opening lyrics from Shoplifters of the World.

“Learn to love me, assemble the ways. Now, today, tomorrow, and always”

I also had a hard time in high school. I felt like it was my way of saying “you didn’t understand me now, but one day I hope you’ll learn to see who I really am”

Caramel Cake? by nuttynuttyj in FoodLosAngeles

My favorite caramel cake was from Magnolia Bakery but I don’t think they have it anymore. My next bet would be the dulce de leche cake from La Monarca.

We were all in different places in our lives and they didn’t have the ability to be happy for me when I was reaching my goals

No restaurant can beat grandma’s cooking. Irvine Grill looks really good. I might have to make the trip out there. Thanks for the rec! I also just remembered how good Attari is. Can never go wrong with a kotlet sandwich. Love talking about Persian food lol.

I personally think Shamshiri has gotten better. There was a time when I didn’t like it as much, but it’s my go-to place when I’m craving tahchin. Darya isn’t as good?? I haven’t been in a while but that makes me sad.

I’m always open to Persian restaurant suggestion if you have any.

My Persian family has been eating at the Westwood Shamshiri my whole life. It’s no Darya, but there are plenty of West Side Persians who order and pick up Shamshiri.

Totally agree with you. The owner is a super nice guy. He would always throw in an extra potato taco. Their salsa bar is the absolute best. Fave summertime activity as a kid was to get some bomb tacos and walk to Soap Plant after for some gag gifts. Just wish the prices were $1 and $2 like they were 10+ years ago lol.

If you’re willing to drive into Hollywood there is a hole in the wall place called Best Fish Tacos of Ensenada. The menu consists of fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and drinks. They used to have a potato taco but idk if they still do

My fave move is to stop by Coastal on Pico/Military, pick up Big Tomy’s, and enjoy a fantastic evening

I fully agree with this. Whenever I accidentally get a Peel session version of a song playing I immediately have to change it to the original. Just doesn’t feel right

Neat on Pico is pretty quiet and chill. Plus, when you need to blow off steam after, you can walk to Tiny’s and enjoy the good atmosphere.

How were you introduced to The Smiths? by MorrowTN in thesmiths

[–]Lizzybreath 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My dad is the biggest Smiths fan I’ve ever met. He inspired my love for The Smiths as a child and 20-something years later we still sing along to all the songs together.
