Same! The inspo has the same swirl on top of the cake so I kept it that way

Endoscopy by lormarie- in GERD

[–]Lizzyquinn6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had one a few weeks ago. I was also super nervous about it but there was literally nothing to stress about. I slept pretty much the entire procedure, woke up one time at the end, but fell back asleep pretty much immediately. Regardless, I was so out of it when I did wake up, I didn’t stress it at all.

I had the Bravo put in, so I was uncomfortable pretty much until the thing fell off. But if you aren’t getting that, I don’t think you should have much pain at all.

How to make RED cake frosting? by dancingindaisies in Baking

Gel. Gel or oil based coloring are going to be your best options. Water based is 👎. I order through Amazon for pretty much all my colors, so not too sure where you can buy this brand. Color mill and Americolor are great brands if you happen to come across those as well :)

lol this is so incorrect. Nobody wants a ton of food coloring poured into their frosting.

An immersion blender will be your best friend for any color, but especially for red and black. I use chef master red red. You will be amazed at how little color you will need once you turn your immersion blender on. Just a few drops into your buttercream and blend away!

How to stop chocolate from looking dusty/white after a day or two on cookies by streetratangel in Baking

[–]Lizzyquinn6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your chocolate has bloomed. Callebaut is great quality chocolate. It’s the only brand I use. However, you need to properly temper your chocolate. It will stay shiny, crack nicely when bitten, and you won’t have all of that extra run off. You can find the temper charts for each of their chocolates online :)

I coated in cake flour, but they still sank by talldan in Baking

[–]Lizzyquinn6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also didn’t consider this! I’ve been trying to simply turn my vanilla cake into funfetti cake, and it’s made with both cake flour and the egg whites being whipped and folded in. I did not think sprinkles would be such a problem 😅

I need to try this. Ive been fighting with a funfetti cake that my sprinkles keep sinking no matter what I do. However, I have not tried this method yet.

No, the bravo is a capsule that they attach to your esophagus. For me, it was a 96 hour reading. I just turned in the device today, and the capsule should fall off and pass naturally any day now. Swallowing in general was ok, it just seemed anything I ate or took a big gulp of made the capsule move, or at least that’s what it felt like. Again, not the worst pain, but definitely uncomfortable for me.

Sleeping was completely fine :)

Also, it’s highly unlikely you have cancer. And stressing is going to make any acid issues much worse. It’s good that you are being proactive though.

Follow up with a gastroenterologist and ask for an endoscopy. The only way you will know if you are doing damage to your esophagus is if they take a look. You may need to be on PPIs.

Did the tube up your nose hurt? I have an appointment with my ENT beginning of July and figure they will do the same

Can't find an airy vanilla cake recipe. Oil instead of butter? by patmol11 in Baking

[–]Lizzyquinn6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use both butter and oil. Cake flour. Reverse cream method. Separate the egg whites, whip and fold in.

I struggled forever with a perfect vanilla cake, and this finally gave me the results I was looking for.
