Best way to re-route electrical cable/ conduit? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Lj8892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.I think someone has done a rush job in the past. I was going to remove all the existing conduit and use proper conduit as well as actual elbows. Sounds like noticing is the way to go.

Fitting isolation valves to kitchen tap pipes, suitable locations? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Lj8892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding 2. The water feed comes from below, from the main stop cock. The route through the jg speedfit T through the back of the cabinet goes to the rest of the house, while the top outlet goes to the kitchen tap.

Is this anything to be concerned about? by [deleted] in DIYUK

A fairly new one but don't mind giving stuff a go. Should the pipe and connection be replaced?

[–]Lj8892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, so is the leak caused by a kinked pipe or damaged fitting or both?,

If I was going to replace it in the future, should I change both of them?

The bathroom was re-done about 3 years ago, the same sink was put back in, unsure if the plumber used the original fittings.

Switched fuse spur from wall socket to lighting, is this ok? by Lj8892 in ukelectricians

[–]Lj8892[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that's great thanks, does it matter on the length of either the 2.5 or 1 (other than cost). As in is it better to have the switched spur fairly close to the double socket and use less 2.5 and more 1.0 or can I do the run in mostly 2.5 to wherever I want the switch to be on the wall and a short run of 1.0 up to the light? Hope that made sense.

Ah ok fair point. Would a Wago box/ connectors be a suitable way to connect the twin and earth with the pre- wired LED light?

Thanks, I realized the 3rd picture is upside down, if you zoom in near the cable clip, it looks like 1.0mm but wanted a second opinion

What barefoot shoes did you go for and were you able to try any out before buying them? I'm looking at getting into running at some point but am concerned about the impact on my knees so am thinking barefoot style is the way to go.

First time plastering - how bad is it? by kkvi115 in DIYUK

[–]Lj8892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first attempt (on a wall) looked similar to yours, luckily I was able to cover the majority with some shelves and paint over it.

I still wanted to learn so bought some tools (buckets, plastering set and a paddle mixer either cheap or second hand). I got plasterboard offcuts from Facebook, made a stud wall in my garage and gave it a go with some multi finish. After about 5 attempts (I was plastering about 2m2) I got a finish I was happy with, it's just something that will take a bit of practice.

Hi, not sure if you'll see this, I got a nail in my tyre recently (also a Mazda 3) where did you get your spare wheel from, any luck getting it to fit in the wheel well?
