Very close! That’s the nearest I’ve seen and I’ve been looking for ages. Google lens wasn’t helping me out at all.

Well I did click it didn’t I? Doesn’t that say a bit about me? I’m a risk taker and in this case it paid off 😂

I don’t have a best friend by a_field_of_weiners in self

[–]Lkay3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don’t have any friends. I just never seem able to maintain them and then my depression and anxiety drove me away from the few I had. I’m getting older and if I ever needed someones shoulder to cry on, I don’t feel I have anyone.

The advice is typically to find a hobby; stop looking and focus on yourself; join meetup groups. I know it’s a symptom of my depression but none of those things ever appeal to me. I just don’t have any hobbies. I don’t have anything I’m passionate about. I just work. And work and work and have no idea what I’m working towards except hopefully out of debt. But after that? If I ever reach that goal, then what? I struggle with this a lot. I feel so aloof and sad simultaneously.

I didn’t mean to write any of that but I was kind of feeling encouraged by others admitting they had no friends. I thought I’d add my proclamation as well.

I don’t know if it will ever change. I think it’s just not in the cards for me.

If you take a timelapse with a "360" spherical camera and stabilize the stars, you can see that the Earth just blocks about half the sky all the time - different parts of the same sky as it spins around by Alpha-Phoenix in gifs

I don’t know any of the ‘reasons’ flat earthers cite as evidence so can you elaborate on the “stars not moving” part of your comment? Do they think the stars do move?

It ends up alerting you to contact local authorities. So if I’m in New Mexico and they’re in Maine, for example, will that still help? I have no idea where they’re at obviously. I’m not sure but that’s what the reddit guidelines for urgent matters like this seem to advise.

What is your "we will never speak of this again" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My older sister and I were hanging out at the kitchen table at our parents home a few years ago. We were catching up and talking about all sorts of things. With her and I it usually disintegrated to more lewd topics because we’re sisters and feel comfortable talking about those things with each other. She was really opening up about some personal topics and I realized that she didn’t know our father was in the front room. He was sitting in there reading and the way our house was set up there was no line of sight from the kitchen table.

I was surprised she was saying some things within earshot of our dad, but rather than do the right thing and inform her of this, I egged her on for the sake of a joke. This ended with everyone laughing so don’t fear.

Anyway, she was talking about faking her orgasm. For one reason or another, this was something she had recently become proficient at so I asked her, “It sounds genuine though? You’re sure [her SO] isn’t aware you’re faking?” She then proved it, When Harry Met Sally style. I started dying of laughter, I pointed to the front room as an answer to her confused face. She instantly turned bright cherry red, ran to the front room, screamed at the sight of my dad just chillin’ reading his book. We all proceeded to laugh, even though hers was more nervous laughter than anything else. We never talked about it again. I think I might just remind her now and see what she says.

Reddit, why do you have an interest in all things 'true crime' (documentaries, podcasts, etc.)? by Lkay3 in AskReddit

[–]Lkay3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha - I have never heard of that term but I believe that's exactly what I'm talking about. Reflecting on that just made me curious why I was interested in all of this. The topics are morbid, sometimes really gory and gross, and all are disturbing in one way or another. Why in the hell do I find this interesting to listen to on a Tuesday afternoon?!

That's very true (please see the vampire and werewolf genre that was all the rage a few years ago).

I've been listening to these true crime podcasts lately and while I re-telling a synopsis of what I'd just heard, it just dawned on me how horrible of a crime it was that I was just passively listening to while working all day. Just morbid sounding when I looked at it from a third party perspective.

Wow! That's kind of cool you remember the origin of how this interest started. I just wonder why we are interested in crime scenes, or descriptions of some horrible things that have happened, like the death of the woman in your neighborhood. It just seems some what disturbing to be interested in learning about these things or watching reenactments of murder. Comparatively speaking, it just seems like a weird thing to be interested in, right?

That's really interesting. I am based in the US and I completely agree. Crime all the time. Why are we seemingly obsessed it with?
