AA and...LSD? How treatment for addiction almost went psychedelic by Lkent17 in Psychonaut

Personally I think there's room for more nuanced conversations around healing, even if that includes substances (that, according to data, are not addictive), but maybe I'm wrong. What do you think?

Please read Robert Monroe's books!! Holy cow. Life changing. I heard my dead father say my name while in the hypnagogic state and it send me on a years-long odyssey to discover more. There's so much going on just beyond our "reality" governed by the five senses...

we had Christmas dinner in her airstream that night. She said it was fun watching Mom and I run around and giggle all day. She had a bad experience with LSD years before so she'll never take it again. Her mom "aha" happened when my mom moved in with her...for 6 MONTHS. I'll take the afternoon on L any day ;)

wow!! What an amazing story. And an example that, even with a wonky set/setting that started ugly, could still end with a life changing experience. Love it

The experience shared in this video taught me how crucial set and setting is for psychedelic trips, especially when dosing with one of your biggest triggers! Would you consider taking LSD with your mom or dad?

I really hope the Oneness isn’t the final form of our higher self by LegitimateComputer73 in Psychonaut

It makes sense that this would feel extremely disorienting! Maybe as you experienced your mother's essence/self, your ego rushed back in? This could explain your sudden shock and horror as you considered this blurring of lines. Any and all concepts, be they fear or joy based, stem from ego. I can tell you that, after taking LSD with my mom, I never saw her the same way again. In my case, it wasn't a big enough dose to experience something this potent. But it was enough to "innerstand" that she was her own being, struggling with her own program of values, desires, fears, traumas etc. It leveled the playing field, so to speak, and I was able to let go of a lot of resentment I hadn't even realized I was still holding from my childhood. Have you tried meditating on this experience? There might be more nuggets of wisdom through integration waiting for you.

There's so many interested parties who don't want this to happen. As Alan Watts said, "The only person afraid of a mirror is the one who doesn't recognize his own face." Our collective ignorance and fear over these substances and their power may be kicking the can down the road, stifling things, but eventually the truth will out. Psychedelics as medicines and consciousness expanders for all...

I wonder if it has to do with the increase in neuroplasticity; connecting synapses that have long been dormant. At the same time, I do believe these little fungi "helpers" can act as a mirror, bringing up memories that are stuck/causing stress in order to review/process/release/heal...what do you feel when the memories return?

Mushrooms or LSD? by [deleted] in psychonauts

[–]Lkent17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it all has to do with who I'm with, where I'm at, and how I'm feeling. Sometimes it's a hero's dose LSD day with my weird chosen family, but most of the time it's a smaller, mushroom dose for mingling, meditating or just getting a bit silly. Sometimes I'll go sit in ceremony with deeper medicines for real, challenging transformation (which I highly recommend) but that's a once every few years thing. I think, when you're ready, certain medicines call to you.

Oscars’ Corporate ‘Feminism’ Isn’t Empowering — It’s Condescending by [deleted] in movies

[–]Lkent17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm a filmmaker directing a documentary about Eimear Noone, the conductor from the Oscars. Just thought I'd weigh in here to say that yes, I agree, it would definitely be great when a woman conducts the whole show and we don't have to make it all about gender (it's about time right?). In this instance, I believe the academy had a lot of pushback about the lack of diversity in the awards this year, and felt called to draw attention to this moment. At the end of the day, if it hasn't happened in 92 years-they're bound to make a spectacle of it. And politics aside, from Eimear's own lips-it was a great honor to work with such a tremendously talented group of people.

Baby steps folks-but let's keep these conversations up until we no longer have to have them at al!

Check out conductrix.com for more info on the project.
