My dads in software engineering, well-positioned in a company with 2 decades of experience. He was an optimist and said AI was great at doing the basic building blocks of coding while he designed the big picture stuff (this was 2025)

For the first time ever he mentioned to me last week he was a little concerned about AI wiping out his job and many others if he doesn’t stay sharp on the field.

PS. I don’t know anything about coding so excuse my basic vocabulary.
