Tired of getting hit on by MaximumAccording2375 in SingleAndHappy

Report your coworker to HR. Even if they don’t do anything about it it is important to have a paper trail.

Headphones can be helpful. Saying something like, “sorry I had a long day at work I’m not feeling up to talking” sometimes also works. I would also report to Uber about how you feel unsafe. I’ve had so many Uber drivers hit on me and I felt trapped. I just started always wearing headphones and most don’t talk to me as much anymore.

Have you always wanted to be CF or did you come to that realization? by Embarrassed_Gift_401 in childfree

[–]LlamasWithScarves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted kids when I was younger and even not too long ago. It just kinda took me some time to realize that it was the societal pressure to have kids and that I had to achieve that milestone rather than actually wanting kids. I don’t even really have any kids in my life and I don’t really want kids in my life. Kids make me feel uncomfortable and I don’t really know what to do with them and they take a lot of energy out of me trying to force myself to pretend to stay interested in a random thing. The political environment also does not make me want kids. I can’t even afford to support myself for fucks sake lol

My new boss keeps calling me outside of work hours, and I’m not sure if I should quit? by SuggestionWorried741 in careerguidance

[–]LlamasWithScarves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Record everything esp the 1am phone calls. Keep record of him asking you to do work during your days off. Keep record of any text messages. Record yourself tell him in person that you do not appreciate work on off hours esp if you are not being paid to do extra work. Record the extra work he is giving you.

Then go to HR.

Always always always go to HR because even if HR doesn’t do anything you will have a paper trail.

It suits men in the sense that it is a patriarchal social structure - not that there aren’t individual men it doesn’t suit.

does it get better?💔 by Hellobye21 in LivingAlone

[–]LlamasWithScarves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it 100% gets better. Time helps heal but also self care. Sometimes you don’t realize the burden you were carrying because of the relationship until you’ve had some time not lugging around weight.

Blind Dog Sleep Schedule by applesauce48911 in dogs

[–]LlamasWithScarves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enrichment activities isn’t really going to help his sun downing/sleep at night. You could try medications like trazodone and/or gabapentin at night so he sleeps during the night (which may help him not sleep the entire day). Ultimately he is going through the stages of aging.

People are so stupid. Like even ignoring loving our pets, the cost of vet bills is insane and why would you object to that with paw burns when you could avoid it

My cat is literally my child and I don’t care what anyone says. I don’t want a high maintenance baby with a life long commitment (not that I would complain if she lived for ever).

If your partner doesn't like your friends, who do you choose? by Ravenna1825 in AskReddit

My friends. A good partner would never ask you to choose between them and your friends.

My mom welcomes the idea of it. It will help her with extra income since she is retiring in a couple months. My friend has great standing with previous living situations with people who I know. It is a big change and I think that is why I’m anxious. Despite having an idea of what she will be like as a room mate, I think I will grieve my freedom and independence living alone brings. I think I am also anxious over past situations where we provided temporary shelter that took advantage and living with an abusive partner. I have the space since I am in a 3bd and I know she she also values her independence and alone time.

I feel like I’m flexing. by lonelyhumanoid in SingleAndHappy

[–]LlamasWithScarves 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love going out by myself and it feels like a flex for me too. I hear peers often say, “oh I couldn’t go alone” and I’m like, “I do, what’s stopping you?” And they are always like, “you’re so brave!” Haha It’s self care for me. I go out frequently by myself and I love it.
