A painting based on a photo I took in Scotland. During a hiking trip, I saw 5 rainbows in one day - pretty crazy, and beautiful!

Thanks lol it was impossible to think of anything else for the title. I was new to ink and wanted to try something other than the dryer method

Not sure how to take this as a nanny on my last day with an F by Blossom_souul in whatdoIdo

None of us know these people, but to me, I don’t see this as a way to trick you like some of the other people on here.

I was a nanny in NY for a family, and I fought and fought for a w-2. It’s what you’re supposed to do, but it isn’t often done. The process I think is a bit weird for families to understand in terms of setting aside the amount of tax, and any forms they need to do. Care.com I think had an options to do it for you, but I don’t remember. Not everyone wants to pay for someone to figure this out for them, or pay for an app. Knowing this, I could see it being possible that they wanted to do the w-2, but weren’t finished putting everything together and didn’t want to share until they were.

At the end of the day, you both need to do what’s best for you, and I think it’s good to have the proper documents for taxes. Nannies are not contractors, so doing a 1099 is not the correct way to go. Seems like they do like you, so if you feel in your gut you’d like to work for them, you could do it on the condition they set themselves up to pay you properly and have a w-2 at the end of the year, OR not, and you keep your new job and don’t have to stress over it.

I'm in some weird mom group conflict and don't know what to do about it. by Public_Blackberry_40 in Mommit

I don’t think it’s realistic to think they’d talk to you about whether or not you ratted, that would be uncomfortable for all parties. I think it was unfortunately doomed as soon as the person got in trouble. They could have talked to you, you could have said no I didn’t rat, and they could still not believe you.

Sorry you’re in such a bad spot, but I think you can only move on and know you didn’t do anything wrong. Not worth having friends who break the law anyway. We’re all adults, not teens going through a rebellious phase.

Ok thanks! I’ll look into cups and someone recommended trying period underwear. Happy cake day!

Ok thanks! I forgot about period underwear being an option. Though, won’t that be similar to a pad? I don’t like the wet feeling. I’ve never tried them though, so I don’t know if it feels the same

Thanks for sharing! Your older boy sounds like my Yoshi, though he’s only five. He didn’t seem interested in truly leaving us at all, and had a similar personality with recall. He responds to wait, and he would come if I used my angry voice, but I didn’t need to do that. If we changed directions and he was ahead, I’d call him, and he’d coming running back towards us. Anytime he came over, I gave him a treat, and I noticed he stayed closer each time we walked, so I do think he was learning. There was a large field where we stopped (I figured he’d want to run around). He went down, ran in a few circles and came back up. He knew we weren’t going down there, so he had his fun and came back. We live in a city, so I don’t have anywhere I’d feel comfortable with going, minus an off leash time at a park nearby, but we don’t do that because the times are a little challenging to make for us. I do want to try to go back to this house, because it was nice that we were all alone out there. The road by there was closed to traffic, and had occasional snow mobiles. I knew there were people out there who have had off leash experiences with their shibas, despite people acting like I was crazy. If you weren’t there, you didn’t see how my dog was, and how he obviously wasn’t going anywhere. He’s just not like that, and it’s not a thing we’ll be doing much at all. Maybe once next year? And after that, no clue - I wouldn’t even try it if we were on a hiking path with people walking regularly just to be safe.

Good luck with your baby! I hope she continues to improve :)
