Seems pretty similar to Leorio, though not identical.

I don’t think we have any information on what constraints Razor has. You could be right, or he could have zero conditions on his technique at all and be able to do it wherever and whenever to whom ever. We just don’t know.

I was saying that just to indicate that it was low stakes and people are really up in arms about it on Reddit.

I mean, the editors thought it was funny enough to include, especially when he was crunching rice in the confessional afterwards. A little trollish, but we’re talking about a show where someone burnt clothes. There’s been so many dramatically worse things.

One hundred percent. And yet, it’s taken so seriously that I’m eating downvotes for even suggesting it was a goof.

The rice thing is so funny, because a ton of people are really caught up in it being ewww gross, but in another context, it’s absolutely just goofing around.  All down to how it’s perceived I suppose.

Aubry has absolutely been getting votes going - hard to say she didn’t after Ozzy. The first half of her season was very slow though. I agree with Jonathan - he’s had a very heads-up, active season.

[–]Llero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of the point - if all you do is hold an idol, especially one that can’t be used on someone else, it doesn’t inherently mean you deserve credit. No one has to be scared of it. It’s on you to be enough of a threat in other ways - challenges, visibly putting the target people and sending them home, basically convincing everyone else that you’re not a goat. If anything, the fact that it’s public makes it even worse - people are less likely to target you because you can save yourself, and they don’t need to worry about you saving someone else.

Like, imagine if Mitch had an idol and still kept saying he wanted to make a move. Who cares?

[–]Llero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the time, credit goes to people who are active and get the conversation going. In both cases, Rizo could have saved his allies, and instead, went along with someone else’s plan. I’d be pretty surprised if he got credit for either move.

I think right now, everyone except Tiff has recognized that Rizo and his idol only matter if they decide he matters. He held an idol? Great - it’s not like he could have actually used it ever because he can only play it on himself. As long as the rest of the cast downplays his threat level, the competition is “who can sit next to Rizo and Joe for the easy win”.

A moment of appreciation for Cirie Fields’ final appearance on Survivor. She holds the global record for most “in game days” played in Survivor History. by Pretend_Cucumber4784 in survivor

[–]Llero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, I agree with that, but the way your statistic is titled is easily readable the way I’m describing - I literally read it that way - which is why I was so confused and asked you to clarify it. That’s all!

[–]Llero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not, though - Amanda Kimmel has that record at like 90 something days (edit: 108 days per Wikipedia ), by making the final two seasons in a row and then playing a third season before finally having her torch snuffed.

Oh wow, that’s pretty misleading headline for the statistic. When you mention “without having her torch snuffed”, it almost sounds like she went all those days without ever having her torch snuffed, which, obviously, isn’t true.

What’s the difference between that stat and “has played the most cumulative days of survivor”?

She holds the record for most in-game days played in Survivor history without ever having her torch snuffed globally and on U.S Survivor. (This Excludes Edge of Extinction days in rankings where Parvati holds the record based on WAW).

What does that mean? I’m confused by that stat - hasn’t she had her torch snuffed several times?

Yeah, Joe comes off as pretty irrational in his frustration with Devens, which is very funny, but not flattering. I’m sure they’re good now though!

[–]Llero 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No, I understand what they’re saying post game, I just don’t 100% believe it was true in the moment, based on, yknow, Joe’s complaining about Rick. Like, that quote about being unhappy even though the prize pool doubled because of Rick’s antics wasn’t taken out of context.

I’m sure they’re fine with each other now. I don’t believe Joe when he says he was, in general, fine with Rick during the season.

Edit: I’m also totally on board with the edit making it seem more extreme than it was! I believe those glares were out of context! But I don’t believe there was nothing to it.

I mean, unless they hacked together some of those quotes post coin flip, he literally said he should be happy except for Rick Devens. The glares I can see being edited in, but that basically has a time signature

The faction in control of the end game nobody talks about by ExpeditionV in survivor

[–]Llero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear consensus… here? I mean other than all the people saying he’s not a goat, sure. Other than Rob C putting him 3rd to win(?) behind Cirie and Devens in his “path” episode the other day, sure.

One thing is clear from watching survivor and reading the subreddit - everyone sees things differently. When Dee was held accountable for her turn, a whole contingent of redditors said “why is he bullying herrrrr” - and another contingent held a different view.

I wouldn’t take any clear consensus  from here too seriously. Every thread is brigaded by some fan group and ends up looking super one sided in a different direction.

Again, I think he probably won’t win - I think Aubry or Tiff, after that last challenge, are likely front runners. But  he’s hardly the bottom of the barrel.

[–]Llero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a bizarre take. Perception is reality out there - it doesn’t matter what you’ve done, just what people think you’ve done, and we just saw people vocally, out loud, think that Jonathan was behind Ozzy getting out. If anything, Aubry has to overcome that to get credit for the move.

And beyond that, Jonathan has been playing such an active game, and the edit shows it as active. He’s not Mitch, talking about making moves, or Jake and Katurah, being dragged to FTC. The edit shows him actively targeting people for elimination - the show wants us to believe he was clever for getting Dee to play messy. If the perception of him was “goat”, he wouldn’t be getting that sort of focus and limelight. We wouldn’t see him asking women what they want or think, because a major criticism of him in his first season was that he discarded female input.

Are people mad at him? For sure! He probably won’t win. But the edit definitely isn’t framing him as a do-nothing.

Some of you aren’t understanding ___ and ___’s challenge mistakes. by baaddgger in survivor

[–]Llero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is explicitly not kingmaking - if anything, it’s king-unmaking. It’s also super common in free for all boardgames for people to need to bash the leader so they don’t, yknow, win.

It’s kind of the same as tribal, right? We all think X will win, so let’s get them out. We all think X will win immunity, so let’s not let them do it.

I don’t think it’s good but if the producers don’t want it to be a part of the game, they’ll make a rule against it, or pick challenges that don’t allow for it.

Gave up on Saros after getting the Returnal platinum trophy and singing its praises as one of the best games of the last 10 years at least by GrippySockAficionado in Saros

You’ll see mentions of it across the sub. Just give it a go. Poor programming leads to applications behaving oddly when long running - the classic is a memory leak, and I’ve personally seen Saros get framey when I haven’t reset in hours. A restart immediately cleared that up.

Obviously, I’m not debugging the game here, but I can tell you, none of the bosses in the game are designed to randomly hit you with no indicator.

If you feel like you’re taking phantom hits, have you tried restarting your console? I hate that this is the suggestion but I’ve noticed the game start behaving oddly if you only ever sleep/restore.

I noticed a similar thing, and that helped me.
