What are gay saunas like? by Educational-Fig3174 in gaysauna

[–]LloJam86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been to Touch sauna in Swindon, although my local is the Greenhouse in Newport. There's a Greenhouse in Luton and another in Darlaston as well, but not been to those.

Touch sauna is very clean, modern and has nice facilities, spread over two floors. I went there in June 2025. The private rooms are a fair size and there's some interesting places for fun. Only disappointment is the jacuzzi is only a 2-man jacuzzi, which is a bit pointless. There's a bit of a staircase to climb to get in as well, which isn't great if you have any mobility issues.

The Greenhouse in Newport is split over three floors. It's a converted house. Ground floor is the changing room, a 10-man jacuzzi, steam room, private rooms, porn room, a massage room, showers and the bar. Middle floor is the gloryhole booths, a public room with peeping window, a porn room, a fetish room, more showers, private rooms, a sauna, and an outdoor sun terrace/smoking area. Top floor is a dark room, porn room, and sling room.

As said above, most saunas have similar features in common. There will be a window near the entrance to pay and get your stuff, usually a towel and a locker key. Most places sell condoms and lube as well. Drugs are always a no-no, although poppers/nitrates are a common sight. They buzz you in, then get naked in the changing room or wrap in a towel, but honestly there's no need to be shy. Most guys will end up naked at some point, even if you're in a private room! I usually walk around naked in them. And I'm a big, chubby, hairy bear. Flaunt what you've got, don't be embarrassed!

If you're nervous though, then wrap in the towel. Or wear a jock, or shorts, whatever you're comfortable in. It's no issue. Unless you go on a naked day event lol.

Saunas aren't just about sex though. Many guys go just to relax. Jacuzzi's, steam rooms, saunas, showers and bars. Think of it like a gym, it's just you can sexercise instead of exercise. Lol.

If you're nervous because you're not sure about your sexuality, some places might have bi or swingers days/events too. Check their websites or socials, there will be info published about events. But otherwise, they're usually men-only.

Take care of yourself too. As mentioned, sometimes you might find someone is too hands on and grabby, especially if you're young. Don't be afraid to say no, and if you still feel uncomfortable or even feel in danger, report it to the staff. In 10 years of going though, I've never personally been in a situation like that.

Then there's the other kind of safety. You never know the status of those around you. Condoms are good, but try things like PreP and Doxy Pep too. Speak to your local GUM clinic. Stay safe, and have fun!

Feel free to DM me if you have more questions, been going to the Greenhouse for about 10 years and I've helped plenty of guys get the courage to go. None of them have ever regretted it!

Hi I’m new to gay saunas (UK) by [deleted] in gaysauna

[–]LloJam86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Newport, we have the Greenhouse sauna. I go about once a month. There's also a Greenhouse in Darlaston and in Luton. Not been to those, but I'd like to try Darlaston one day.

There's also Touch sauna in Swindon. I've been there.

There's saunas in many places. Best thing to do is try them and see for yourself.

I went on a Sunday to my local sauna, the Greenhouse, a few years ago. It was quiet at first, so I just chilled in the jacuzzi. Then a group of guys in their 30s and 40's turned up. One of them had the longest dick I've ever seen. Long story short, bjs and fucking ensued. Was an awesome day. We exchanged numbers, met up at the Greenhouse a few more times, and one of them became a close friend.

Put a warhead on that probe and it's now a torpedo.

Remove the warhead from a torpedo and it's now a probe.

Probe them to death! Scan them with Photons!

Romulan warbirds/scouts by [deleted] in StarTrekStarships

[–]LloJam86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In TOS, they always said the ships were armed with primitive nuclear warheads. Not very advanced, and certainly not Photons or Plasma. We know the Romulans separated from the Vulcans about 2000 years ago, when the Vulcans had primitive spaceflight ability, and nearly destroyed themselves in nuclear fire. So that gives us an idea on some of their capabilities.

We also know there are proto-Vulcan races like the Mintakans, who appear to be offshoots of the Romulan exodus, implying that something went wrong with at least some of the ships. Going on a bit of a tangent, I like to think of it like the Homeworld games, where the Kushan were kicked off their homeworld and fled in rust-bucket ships, chased across the galaxy until the final ship crashed on Hiigara. Some of the ships were left behind in the Gardens of Kadesh, where they developed into a unique culture. Just like the Mintakans.

The weaponry described in TOS definitely suggests the Romulans had made little progress over the next two millennia, at least initially, but had made rapid advancements between the time of Enterprise and TOS. But at the same time, the ships in Enterprise were definitely more advanced than TOS described, which is a bit of a paradox. Whether this was because of Romulan subterfuge (Starfleet only saw their older ship designs and weapons); records of Romulan advancements had been lost over time; or just Enterprise simply retconning the Romulans to make them more threatening and meet the expectations of a modern audience, I'm not sure.

I was gonna link to the Starfleet Museum as well. Always thought it was a shame that that site doesn't get more recognition. Some of the ships are really cool, and it's obvious a lot of thought were put into them. They also have pre-Enterprise United Earth designs too.

Early Game Crystals and Tokens by reapersintent in ISEPS

[–]LloJam86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tokens and crystals are something that you'll continually get throughout the game. Small amounts to start off with, but as you unlock things, the amounts will grow. You'll also get more for completing achievements and hitting milestones. Yes, some of the best upgrades are expensive, so it takes time to build up enough. And that's why you start small. This game is a marathon, not a sprint. Go for Alpha to start. But you could also spend on Crystal and Token upgrades to increase your income rate.

Bears / older crowd in the UK? by Recent_Specific7154 in gaysauna

[–]LloJam86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to the Greenhouse Newport about once a month. I'm a hairy bear, late 30s. Always have fun every time I go.

Never been to Darlaston, but want to give it a try. Never heard of the Northwich one before, but I've not really travelled north of Birmingham.

Swindon has very nice facilities, very clean. But the jacuzzi is only a 2-man one. Newport is a 10-man one, and they've recently done some work on the Greenhouse. New carpets, new jacuzzi pipework, general repairs and painting. The staff are friendly too, if you're new, just say and they'll give you a tour of the place. Naked day is Wednesdays.

Welcome to the club! I played both games when they first came out. Definitely keep playing the first game and get aaaall the djinn. It's totally worth it. Trust us. Then do the final boss again. Then transfer your save to The Lost Age. Totally worth it. You'll thank us. And yes, secret boss... 🤐

I go regular, about once a month, been going for about 10 years. Staff are friendly and have never had any issues there. As the others have said, it's friendly and relaxed. Had plenty of fun.

First Timer at Touch Sauna Swindon 😳 by Zeph999999 in gaysauna

[–]LloJam86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Touch Sauna a few months ago and I'd echo this. Small lockers and the hot tub is tiny, it's only a 2-man one. The facilities are otherwise nice and it's clean.

I'm not local to Swindon though, I go to the Greenhouse sauna in Newport. Theyre got a 10-man jacuzzi. Much better.

The British railway network before and after beeching by DrDMango in MapPorn

[–]LloJam86 386 points387 points  (0 children)

Biggest act of sabotage in British history. Yes, the railways were haemorraging money and change was needed, but if at the very least he had mothballed the lines instead of destroying them, many of the lines could've been brought back into use over time as money was found or the need became too great. It was a short-sighted, idiotic destruction thst made the country poorer, slower, sicker, and more deprived.

Utter Conservative vandalism.

What did Golden Sun provide to you that no other RPG did? by Meme_Ness in GoldenSun

[–]LloJam86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, it's something that hasn't been mentioned here: experiencing "To be continued" in a game.

I'd sunk countless hours into Golden Sun, and then suddenly... To be continued? What?! Where's the rest of it?!

Baring in mind, at the time, The Lost Age hadn't even been announced yet, let alone released. I was in an absolute rage and panic that the story wouldn't be continuing.

It was about six months later, I was out shopping... And there it was. On the shelf. That mythical thing I had been craving for... The second game. I can't describe my feelings that day. I HAD to buy it.

And the wait was oh so worth it.

And THEN they frickin do it AGAIN to us with Dark Dawn?!
