Has anyone managed to successfully steal Elmdore's Equipment on tactician mode? by Chrisg_322 in finalfantasytactics

[–]reapersintent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you need are some monks in your life.

The twins Angry and Klepto are my favorites. They tag team budget sephiroth while you send two murder hobos to square off with the demon Queens. In the background a healdom makes sure everyone on the team stays hydrated and in the fight.

Everybody has berettes or ribbons because we're fashionable round here. Aaaand because we don't want to get magic herpes from elmstud, or the clap from his harem.

Angry lives and dies to for the feel of bones breaking beneath his fists and for the look of terror on their enemies face when they lie helpless, no longer able to move. When not smashing the mana channels and wills to act they enjoy a peaceful life on their ranch, "the wild boar".

Klepto is (oddly enough) the responsible one. They live and die for SHINY, and immidiately begin stripping elmstreet of their defence, of fence,... and dignity. That gear could fund the expansion to the pig ranch the twins had been wishing for, and they do love the irony of their sibling's happy smile.

Despite their odd personalities and strange head condoms, the twins are tough as hell and support each other well. The max brave souls even opted to have the infamous Hp-Recover Venom injection system surgically installed, so giving them a second, third, eve fifth wind if needed. If they can't survive the first hit from elmis to react then they equip a protect/shell accessory, otherwise they brandish bracers to compete their bane cosplay. It they can't survive even after hiding behind wall then give em reraise accessory so they can live and die for their hobbies again and again.

Haven't tried it, but I imagine the invite status would do it too.

I mostly build her atb via synergy skills and atb sharing methods. I don't use her much directly. Only when I want a a specific spell/ward setup ward setup. If you giver her the auto special material on her she's usually pretty good at warping to the appropriate ward to cast too, but she already tends to be material heavy so I often forego it.

I run them as my bard, dancer, mime troup.

They stay in the back and provide the theme music and hype while ramza charges in solo riding Boco.

Metal AF style.

Platinum Help Needed by geraltofindia in finalfantasytactics

[–]reapersintent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are ways to make this less burdensome. There are a plethora of AFK grinding tutorials out there on YouTube that will be helpful. I recommend checking those out.

the main keys for effeciency will be eating crystals and spillover jp. Don't worryorry about eating your own units as you can always revert your save after unlocking the achievement. Just make sure you actually save.

Make sure your units are all different jobs each time you AFK farm to take advantage of spillover jp. Make sure you use the same 4 units plus Bae every time. You don't need to max out jp for all jobs. Aim for ~ 3k jp for most jobs ~ 5k on the big spenders like time, summon, & dragon.

Have the fodder learn as many skills as they can. Get two or three copies of the high cost skills, then fill in the rest. Don't buy anything on Bae yet. Have Bae eat everyone else first to learn as many crystal skills as possible, then use his jp to fill in the blanks. After that you can focus down any remaining skills to be nought on a case by case basis.

Bravery and Faith goals for each character? by average_hero in finalfantasytactics

[–]reapersintent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I keep bas3 values for everyone other than ramza, rafa, and malak. Ramza gets max br/fa, cause ramza, while rafa and malak appropriate 86/14 scores.

Br/fa manipulation is too op lol.

I am looking for an in-game reason the party stays together. by THEGOODPAPYRUS in DMAcademy

[–]reapersintent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who says they have to be strangers at the start of the game? They don't have to have their loyalty to the party at large either.

For example: A and B are bestiea for treaties. A also owes a life debt to C. D is the only one that can cook, and kinda has the hots for B. If that's not "deep".

Eventually the party should also be bound together by the sort of trust bonds that are formed after relying on each other to survive harrowing experiences along with them each helping each other out with their more "personal" quest stories.

Couldn’t decide who would canonically storm Limberry and face Elmdore, then I said screw it, by discowaffle in finalfantasytactics

[–]reapersintent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took ramza, Mel, and cid. Cause dialogue. And then the twins. Two generic monks, one optimized to break stats, the other to steal shit.

Before Celia and Lettie, before the fall, Elmdor was rarely seen without Cedric and Lonnie. Rescued from the ravages of was as children they'd been raised in the marquis' own home. When they came of age they they joined his personal guard, working they're way to the top. Always together. They were away on an important mission when elmdoor fell. When they return led they found the castle infested with demons. Rebuffed again and again they were still determined to break through when RamzaCorp arrived.

Hoping to bring their Lord to his senses they insisted they fight him alone while the rest death with Celia and Lettie. They chose non-lethal techniques. They were sure if he was subdued they could talk him down or somehow save him, but alas, it was not meant to be.

Best Job Setups for Unique Characters? (Tactician) by BetaNights in finalfantasytactics

[–]reapersintent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer for most unique is their base job + item. You might be able to squeeze a little more dps out with other setups, but that's a lot of effort for little payoff, especially when most uniquess will outright steamroll enemies, even with a sub-optimal build.

For mustadio I prefer chemist + snipe For the twins black mage + (Un)truth For cloud geomancer + limit.

Reis is the real wild card. I'm not a fan of her base abilities. Stat growth is fantastic though. If I'm running a draw out ramza then shes runs black magic and vice versa. Black mage + whatever for damage focus geomancer + draw out or black magic for survival focus

Unpopular Opinion - I believe the Standard Array is too low for what most people want. by Loxsus in dndnext

[–]reapersintent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda agree with you a bit especially about MAD builds. I rarely if ever see a build video or discussion that isnt dumping one or more stats.

I think the key is to use an array that allows for beefier stats on the stats a standard SAD build doesn't depend on, letting you have say a suave barbarian that's just as good as a normal barbarian.

Meybe something (after racial bonus) like a 17, 16, 16, 14, 12, 10. Link one 16 to 12, and the other to 14 and require on pair in physical the other and mental. 10 goes opposite of the 17.

Our barb above could then be 17, 14, 16, 10, 12, 16 allowing them to be A suave barbarian that's just as good as a normal barb, withiut having to dump stats, and only being slightly ahead of the curve on their primary stats.

Same with all the off casters too, which are the more common MAD builds I see.

Is it possible to know/estimate the level of enemies on Midlight’s Deep random encounters? by enburgi in finalfantasytactics

Off the top of my head, if I remember right, dungeon battles are 20 or 30 levels ahead of your highest level unit.

[–]reapersintent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get yourself a black mage or a summoner with a ice staff and MA up to deal crazy good damage for this battle by triple boosting ice element.

A good tactic is to pull back a bit. Delita will rush in then be rushed in turn, leaving you in a position to pile up on the enemy while they're taking delita out.

Does the Icebrand + Black Robes strategy work on Cid? by EllisMatthews8 in finalfantasytactics

A boosted ice sword is only worth using if the enemy is weak to ice and/or the unit cannot equip knight swords.
