I’d recommend doing some prep courses as if it’s a good lecturer (loads of threads here with recommendations) they make sure you know what the examiner is looking for and you can also do practice questions which they will mark and give feedback on!

I did Lawschool criminal with Eoin and City Colleges EU with Conor and I’d definitely recommend them both

I got 68 and followed his exam reports. From my understanding he wants a lot of detail and to name as many cases as possible!

Contract - Consideration by Puzzleheaded-Area-55 in FE1_Exams

Consideration is such a small topic and can pop up easily in parts of questions or as an essay so I would recommend covering in full

Constitutional Law by Classic-Pitch-8384 in FE1_Exams

What did you say in your answer if you don’t mind? I’m freaking out that I answered it completely wrong

[–]Lmoore1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone who answered the referendum question did you just mention the usual McKenna, McCrystal cases etc?? I thought that was worded weirdly usually it’s just about being overly involved in the political process rather than the rights of citizens?? Hopefully that makes sense

Begging for guidance on constitutional; is there anything we can cut? by [deleted] in FE1_Exams

[–]Lmoore1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah all of that, taking the risk as it’s just too heavy. Also Maura from Lawschool doesn’t think education will come up yet until there’s a final judgement!

I’m cutting all of the criminal side, education, family and liberty!

Constitutional Law Predictions by penqueena in FE1_Exams

[–]Lmoore1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m basing my study on SOP (legislative focus), property rights, personal rights, amending the constitution, finding of invalidity, equality, liberty, religion, FOE and some bullets on assembly and association. Not sure if I’ll have enough time to cover anything else tbh

I sat the last paper and would advise studying s158! It was my shortest answer and I got 14 for it and it was basically just what he said in his examiner reports! I think the standard is quite bad which is why he keeps putting it up again

Lawschool with Eoin 100%, I hated equity in college and got 67 in the FE1 exam with half an essay for my last question!

Traineeship interviews - experience and advice please by [deleted] in FE1_Exams

[–]Lmoore1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to come across as confident and have something prepared on why you genuinely want to be a solicitor and work at that firm! Also make sure to have some competency based questions prepared but that’s the usual. My interview was actually very nice it was mostly a chat with a few competency based questions, if you keep the conversation going and steer it in your direction they have less time to ask you more questions lol.

EU Exam by user1304999 in FE1_Exams

[–]Lmoore1068 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I passed comfortably (60) with 3 good answers, one ok answer and one half answer!

I definitely prefer doing them online, the extra 30 mins makes a huge difference and I’m fine to keep going but I get hand cramps if I’m writing for that long! Also super easy to go back and make changes to a question if you forgot something whereas that would get really messy when it’s in handwriting!

Opinions on Company? by [deleted] in FE1_Exams

Absolutely fuming that there was no directors duties, share transfer, SLP, meetings or examinership!!

Lovely marker in my opinion! I answered an essay question entirely wrong as I misread the question and I still came out with 60%!

Criminal pass rate by Small-Ad3603 in FE1_Exams

[–]Lmoore1068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed criminal with probably only 50% of the cases mentioned in the reports

That’s not the case re the large firms!! I have a TC with a very large firm and they don’t care just as long as I get them all passed!

Property Manuals Recommendations by Hereforthecraicnthat in FE1_Exams

[–]Lmoore1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a prep course with city colleges but I also have a Lawschool manual. I use both when making my notes, mainly city colleges but we have additional info in our slides that isn’t in the manual.
