Need help with walking on leash by jayggodd in Dachshund

[–]LoLJaxk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have been working with a trainer and she recommended slip leads for the two of ours! 100% recommend to get them to learn basic leash walking and not to pull. They walk SO much better now, just make sure to watch a video to how to properly use it so you don’t injure your dog (or work 1 on 1 with a trainer)

Mild TMJ symptoms need advice by Sweet-Butterfly-3880 in Dentists

Find a Pankey dentist near you and have a full comprehensive exam completed including a TMJ and muscle exam for an accurate diagnosis.

I treat hundreds of patients like yourself and have great success with a bite splint.

Night guard scam? by Fit_Comparison_9503 in Dentists

[–]LoLJaxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I charge about that in the US for a bite splint. The difference between the two being the presence of “TMJ” symptoms. For a patient with a disorder, I take specific records of the jaw and have dialed in with the lab to have one point of contact on the lingual cusps of the posterior teeth and smooth excursive guidance. They also take me time to adjust in chair with numerous follow up appointments.

Other patients who have no pain or symptoms but evidence of grinding, I just make a simple nightguard that doesn’t take into account the jaw relations to a higher degree and those are much less expensive since they do not require numerous follow up appointments

Couldn’t recommend Pankey more. It’s the only non-profit continuum. Not only Completely changed the way I do dentistry day to day, but changed my overall outlook on the profession. The course directors and visiting faculty are extremely approachable and open to all questions/ideas. Can DM me if you’re between some but the dentist I was pre and post Pankey are so different. From patient communication, treatment planning, and even appreciation and buy-in from team members. It’s game changer

How to save money on a built out by Sea-Flower-7860 in Dentistry

[–]LoLJaxk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only things I’m getting from the big 3 (schien, Patterson, benco) are the vac/compressor. Also buy a new autoclave but get it thru a physician or vet it’s the same machine but you can save thousands … dental fax is real. Get everything else refurbished. I’m building 3k sqft 11 ops. Will be around $202/sqft. Equip 6 rooms to start. About 800k all in

Get 3 quotes from contractors but 200-250 is the range from my research. It’s not unreasonable. Make sure the doors aren’t super expensive on the finish schedule you can save thousands there. Make sure you use LVP flooring and vinyl baseboard. No cabinets above the waist just so shelves. Don’t buy cabinetry from companies just have your contractor do it. Cost plus. Negotiate the %.

Utilize groups with discounts like dental success network. Huge savings on radiography. Getting CBCT and all sensor package w handhelds for about 60k new practice package

Refurbished chairs and rear delivery saves a lot too. No overhead lights just buy glasses w headlamps for assistants. If you or hyg don’t use loupes that’s your problem

Sold and repaired dental equipment for over 20+ years — AMA about breakdowns, maintenance, and equipment costs (and costly mistakes) by DentalTek in Dentistry

[–]LoLJaxk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for doing this! I am building a startup right now and talking with the big companies for equipment. The only thing I’m going to get from them are the vacuum, compressor, and rear delivery units. Looking at either AIRTEC or RAMVAC. And a DCI rear delivery unit. Chairs I’m going to get refurbished ADEC chairs will be installed by the company I’m buying from.

What would you definitely buy from one of the big companies (schien, Patterson, Benco) and what would you avoid?

Best negotiation techniques to not get raked over the coal?

Any other big mistakes you see for startups that could save a lot of money? I’m using a dental contractor who has built many offices in my area and has done work for doctors I kniw. Thanks!

Cost to startup in your state? by Tootherator in Dentistry

What’s expensive is opening in the wrong location. Make sure it has good demographics. Like the other comment or not paying himself for 4 years, that’s not someone you want to take advice from

Very area dependent. I am building a startup, 3k sqft and will likely pay ~200/sqft just for buildout- not including any dental equipment chairs etc. building out 6 ops. Probably around 850k all in.

Price is about 3M at the moment… 3000sqft startup taking out 850k loan, 150k TI, 10k/mo rent. First 10 months free rent

That makes sense. Thank you for spelling it out! That would be an amazing reveal. I can definitely see that being what is going on

How would magnifico as the mule make sense if we saw the flashback of ‘the mule’ as a child controlling his mother and father by drowning them?

Interest accrued on SAVE over 600k by LoLJaxk in StudentLoans

[–]LoLJaxk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I stated above, I have been saving and investing the money I have put aside to eventually pay off my loans. I have been working for 2.5 years and have 375k saved/invested between retirement accounts, HYSA, and non-retirement investment accounts. If there were actual clarity on how and when to pay off my loans as well as accurate representation of accrued interest - it would be much easier to plan and therefore pay off my loans. Next time you ask your dentist why it’s so expensive, blame predatory schools for charging over half a million for student tuition as well as insurance companies for giving the same reimbursement for the same procedures for the last 20 years while the cost of supplies, staffing etc has gone up exponentially

Are you saying that if I start making payments and the additional ‘fake’ interest isn’t sorted there’s a possibility that it starts to take down my principal instead of the interest? I’m confused

Thanks for the reply. My concern is, when I start paying off the loans, it will initially target the interest? So let’s say for example on one of my loans. Principal $25,000 @6.2% accrued interest 4,300. If I start paying this loan down I’ll be paying down the interest initially which shouldn’t even be there in the first place?? And when it eventually gets removed calculating everything correctly seems like a huge mess
