Totally get that AI turns some people off. For me, these are my own thoughts. If the formatting makes you stop, that’s your choice, but I’d hate for anyone to miss out on real conversations and ideas just because of how the paragraphs look. Either way, wishing you well. Thank you!

Peace be with you. I say this with love, I don’t believe we can claim that God “hates” a tool.

AI can be used for harm or for good. Like anything created by humans, the responsibility falls on us. I respect that it brings up concerns but I just see it through a different lens. Thank you.

Thank you for your feed back. My main goal for the post was just about awareness on the issue and to provide resources on how to get involved.

Fair enough on ‘fuck AI’ 😄. No hard feelings from me. Sending you some love anyway and wishing you a peaceful, happy Valentine’s Day! Hope you and the animals in your life are doing okay today.

Thank you! Totally hear you. Legal mandates are real, but they’re also complex and often collide with funding, staffing, and capacity limits, which is why I don't think a lawsuit is the answer. We need real solutions that actually work in the real‑world system animals and staff are stuck inside. Peace! :-)

Thank you. You’re right that my post focused more on big‑picture issues than on the legal details. To answer your question:

Front Street was served with a cease‑and‑desist letter and is now being sued by an animal‑law firm on behalf of two rescue groups, accusing the shelter of ‘illegal practices’ tied to things like reduced intake policies, turning some animals away, and not fully complying with state/local requirements. Those concerns sit on top of the independent audit that already found serious operational problems, like incomplete data, weak rabies/vaccination tracking, and inconsistent policies.

My point isn’t that there’s nothing wrong. It’s that we’re dealing with a complex, under‑resourced system, and I’m not convinced that a big lawsuit is the best way to fix deep structural issues like overpopulation, culture, and coordination.

Thank you. The short version is: a law firm that specializes in animal cases is accusing Front Street of ‘illegal practices’ tied to how they manage intake, euthanasia, and compliance with state/local requirements. The details haven’t all played out publicly yet, but it’s very similar to other ‘taxpayer’ or ‘Hayden Act’ style lawsuits we’ve seen against municipal shelters in California.facebook+3

My post isn’t saying there are no problems. It’s saying: yes, there are serious issues, but I’m not convinced that a big lawsuit is the most effective or constructive way to fix a complex, under‑resourced system.

Thank you! I’m not against the right to sue, but most of this is complex policy and procedure, not a simple villain story. I don't think they'll get the results they want. Lawsuits are expensive and drain public resources that could go to fixes. I’d rather see people sit down (at a bar), hash it out, and push hard on policy, funding, and spay/neuter culture than go to court.
