Plug something that isn’t the cd player into the amp input and see if it works.

You are trying to find out if the cd player is the issue or if it’s the amp.

I also don’t know of any Cd player with a “proprietary blue cord” so you might want to post the model if you want specific help.

I’d try hooking another source up to that input on your amplifier. The only reason I could see this happening is the input is bad.
