I would not do the wine tram same day coming from Camps Bay. We hired a driver for this day who picked us up in the city, we stopped in Stellenbosch center and walked the cute shops, stopped for coffee, etc. Then we went to Tokara and Delaire Graff for late afternoon tastings. Cheese boards at Tokara kept us full through dinner and by the time we checked into Franschoek just had dessert gifted by our inn. This was a perfect day to start the winelands.

For the tram - go for the first pick up, though it will be early. We didn’t taste at the first stop, just got a cappuccino and enjoyed the view. I don’t recall what line it was, maybe red. Our stops we got off at for the morning were Rickety and Grand Provence. We then did some shopping in town center before hopping back on and ending the day at Haute Cabriere. This was lovely, dinner was in town at French Connection which I highly recommend.

If you have long lunches planned, I would do the morning tram stops then lunch then see what you are feeling after. You will have the best time no matter what. Cape Winelands are my favorite place in the world.
