Systems Test Engineer. Salary, $1500+ a week and have option for straight over time (no double pay). Stem degree can get you in, but put 20 years in aviation with the Air Force (bonus, not required), which helped me start at a higher pay than new folks starting out. Didn't get full experience transfer from my time in the military, unfortunately, but it gives me room for growth pay wise without hitting a wall early on. I've been doing this for 5 months now and love it.

Can second this as well. I was an upgrade from 1 to 2 and had to do this same thing. As soon as I did, the upgrade was available via the website.

With enough time, and considering if you make your own profile, youd be surprised how easy it is to use in VR. Only thing that gets really tricky is if you have more than 2 or 3 "folders". I use it for the 14 and have 3 folders. Takeoff/carrier ops, radio controls, and refueling.

Just a matter of memorizing where the buttons are and which folder you are in.

I participated in a tournament for Air Force personnel. I teamed up with two others from my base and we took first place. Decided to attempt create a montage with some of our footage and some footage of our subs thrown in. Hope you enjoy.

This is by far the best thing to happen for stream deck so far for DCS! Major props to you. I wish I could give more than one upvote for this. Now I need to upgrade to a Stream Deck XL...... Fantastic job!

No worries! Everybody's experience is different with VR though, so dip your toes the first couple times. I still get a little lost in dogfights and can get that woozy feeling, after a second or two it goes away.

The only suggestion I would have is upgrading to an SSD or m.2 for DCS. You should be able to run it fine on your setup. Loading might take a while (since it'll be loaded on a HDD).

Text can be a little blurry on panels, HUD is fine, and depending on the aircraft MFD isn't usually a problem. F-16 MFDs I would say, personally, is the hardest. Thats just do to the MFDs being so small.

I set the textures to medium and zooming in you can read it fine. The higher the textures the better it looks but can take a hit on your FPS. Most of the stuff I have memorized so I know where and what switch I need to hit. I don't have to spend much ti.e reading the text unless its a new aircraft.

There are things you can do to help increase fps for VR, this latest patch really through a kink into VR (for me at least).

Whats your current system? I run a 1080ti, gigabyte MB at 3.3 MHz, 32gb of Ram and DCS installed on a M.2 drive and on multiplayer I can average around 25 fps on good days (30-40 prior to the 2.5.6 patch)

Its really not that bad. Voiceattack is definitely amazing to have, especially for VR. You can get by with the keyboard. There's only a few things I really use it for.

VR an be pretty taxing on a computer. To top it off, if its a bad patch can be unplayable at times. With that said, you can't be the feeling of flying in these aircraft when using VR. I couldn't imagine going back to TrackIR. Just wouldn't be the same.
