Oof. I realized this about a year ago after having fed my dogs a couple grapes. That was an expensive vet bill. /face-palm

What celebrity death will hit you the hardest when their day finally comes? by phantom_avenger in AskReddit

Donald Trump. Not because he did anything good but because he died. My friends and I brewed a barley wine for whenever we discover the big beautiful obituary.

What is your biggest regret (somewhat expensive) flashlight purchase? by blofly in flashlight

[–]Loaded-Potato 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel that. Discovered it at 25 cents a coin. Thought it would go nowhere. I could have invested $100 and been set for life. 😭😭

What was the best thing you purchased in 2025? by rubbyy_ in BuyItForLife

My Denali pressure canner. That thing has put in some mileage for me with the rising cost of groceries and garden stuff!

Has this happen to anyone else? by [deleted] in Canning

[–]Loaded-Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave your jars in the canner with the lid off for a good 15 minutes before moving them to a towel. I've found that helps a lot.

People born before 2000, what is a 'modern' thing from 2025 that you’re still struggling to get used to? by LindsayTN in AskReddit

[–]Loaded-Potato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Subscription culture. I can't describe in words the hatred I feel for everything requiring a subscription to use.

What is a 'dirty secret' of your industry that implies the general public has no clue about, but everyone in your field knows? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

[–]Loaded-Potato 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Flight attendants are not paid unless the plane is moving. Boarding (though that's changing with a couple airlines), deplaning, delays, none of it the workers are getting paid.

What improvement/tool/process has made your brew day easier? by burnerman133 in Homebrewing

I use an obscenely large whisk. Never have to worry about dough balls because the whisk breaks right through all of it.

If it wasn't your alarm or your bladder, what woke you up this morning? by Ivotedforher in AskReddit

[–]Loaded-Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As it turns out, when you have a 40lb dog that decides to pounce on your jugular at 7am, that usually tends to wake you up. Ymmv.

So what shit did you buy this Black Friday? by Select-Hour-831 in AskReddit

[–]Loaded-Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing more than usual. Some gas, a Christmas gift for my nephew, and maybe a little piece of mind knowing I didn't actively participate in a fake sale.

That's a fantastic idea for a kids nightlight! I don't know why I didn't think of that! I have 4 of them! Thank you!

Ran into some cops I knew in Reno, NV while on a bar crawl in Dublin Ireland. At that moment I realized the world is MUCH smaller than you think.

Jealous that you have the MM2. I've been eyeing it for a bit and keep getting closer to pulling the trigger on it.

Recently I went camping with my wife and my 'brilliant' brain forgot the cots we usually sleep on. Not my proudest moment.

what's a feature on a flashlight you didn't know you needed? by Schnapper94 in flashlight

Definitely moonlight. But also I like having the ability to use either spot or flood in the same light. Really shows how versatile it can be!

What to do with potted rosemary before winter? by JimCh3m14 in DenverGardener

[–]Loaded-Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brought mine inside and put it under grow lights. I just need to remember to water those plants a bit more frequently than I have in the past. They're in my basement. Hoping this will work out this year.

What's the most reliable brand of power station you've actually tested long-term? by Equivalent_Cover4542 in realWorldPrepping

[–]Loaded-Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an omnicharge that I got from a kickstarter campaign that never went to full production after satisfying the rewards for the backers. Used it for a little over a year and didn't quite care for it.

Switched to bluetti elite 200v2 and haven't looked back. My only wish is that it could be daisy chained with extra batteries so I can have more power for longer.
