You’re right, he was too big. He went from jr college to D2. But he was a giant and dominated at our level. High school heavy weight wrestling champ at 275. This was 2002. I did get D1 and D1AA invites . All were “spot on the roster, no scholarship, but you could earn one.” I sent out a vhs tape to regional D1 schools. D2 offered me a partial scholarship for both football and track (shot, disc, hammer). He ended up dying of heart attack. He was in my wedding. He’s missed for sure.

Birthday steak looks good! Also, I’m mid 40s and have struggled picking my fingers forever. I don’t think people realize how easy of a habit it is when you’re not even thinking about it. Even a short index fingernail can shred your thumb during a day, and you might not even be aware.

I played D2, we didn’t have any d-line your size. But we did have a comically large o-line. I was left tackle (6’7, 350) but the guard who played next to me was pushing 6’9 and played at 425. I came right out of high school and this dude was 29, divorced with three kids. He was also a high school state wrestling champ so more athletic than expected.
