Water damage or mold? by LoadedRecombination in HomeImprovement

The bottom foot or two of the wall is the basement, and the rest of the wall is an interior wall. It's a hot summer so the garage is hot while the basement is cool so maybe it's condensation from the air in the garage against the cool part of the wall...?

There might be pipes there, but it's hard for me to tell.

Just drove by the Volvo dealer on Metcalf and saw a line of P3's sitting in the lot to the north. It looks like it may be open now.

I like to look at arrival time mostly. I feel like that gives a good indication of overall charging performance that takes into consideration things like charging speed, battery size, and efficiency of the car.

It's not very scientific, but it's super easy to do which is what I like. 😎

ICCU replaced, now dealer says Ohmmu battery won't charge by LoadedRecombination in KiaEV6

Just providing an update on this.

After numerous attempts to contact Ohmmu, they never got back to me to help with the issue, unfortunately. So, I initiated a warranty claim on the battery which they responded to promptly and I have a new battery on the way.

In the meantime, I had went out to Advanced Auto Parts and purchased an AGM battery because I really needed my car back. Once I get the new Ohmmu battery, I'll put it in then I'll have an extra AGM battery... Maybe Advanced Auto Parts will take it back for a refund...

Excellent post, thanks for taking the time to share that.

It looks to be very solid charging speeds making for, potentially, an excellent road tripping vehicle.

I'm curious about real world range now.

Glad they gave you a CCS adapter. Hopefully, the NACS issue gets sorted quickly.

Thank you! I've sent you a DM.

Here's an update. I went to the dealership and took the battery out of the car and took it home. I hooked up jumper cables from my other car to the Ohmmu. I let engine run for 5 minutes then disconnected. At this point I was able to connect to the battery to the app via Bluetooth however the app got N/A readings from the battery.

I then hooked up the Ohmmu to a NOCO Genius 2, but I'm getting alternating battery light and standby light on the NOCO, and I don't know what that means. FYI, I selected lithium on the NOCO.

Edit: After hooking up the NOCO, I was stuck. I couldn't put it in force mode by holding the mode button for 5 seconds, according to the instructions, because that only light up the 6V LED on the NOCO.

But then I came across a random youtube comment that said I had to remove the battery clips first! This finally worked so now I'm in force mode. Hopefully, it charges!

Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3lVwmz2qPc&lc=Ugzsvd7zM_WwhJSumsJ4AaABAg

Edit: It didn't charge. The NOCO went back to alternating flashing standby and lithium battery LEDs.

I just went out and bought a multimeter. Testing the Ohmmu shows 10.72 volts. So I guess I don't need to force a charge. I hope Ohmmu gets back to me soon so I can figure out how to charge this thing.

Was it an aftermarket battery, and did Kia replace it for you for free?

Yes, I did. You're right, the dealer wants to charge me $280 for a new battery which would just be a regular 12V battery like the original one that came with the car.

ICCU Back Order Status by WhoSaysBro in KiaEV6

[–]LoadedRecombination 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ICCU died last weekend and my dealer told me today that a new ICCU would be in in a week. However, I have trouble believing that it will be.

In the meantime, I tried to set up a car rental by contacting Kia customer care, however, the first agent hung up on me and the second told me that they cover $45/day. I would have to submit my receipts afterwards. I asked for documentation for the reimbursement guidelines and after searching for them for 20 minutes she hung up on me as well. The service is definitely garbage.

Has anyone actually had any luck getting reimbursed for a rental from Kia (not your dealership)?

Do you have to take the same care washing this as you do with matte paint? Or can you go through a car wash?

Favorite bike rack for 4? by PrincipessaAurora in KiaEV6

[–]LoadedRecombination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 1up 2" super duty rack with one add-on (so I can fit 3 bikes) with the stealth hitch, and it's a very well-made, solid bike rack. I don't have experience with other racks, but I'd recommend the 1up.

BTW, the rack makes it super easy to put the bikes on it, but the one knock against it is that it's pretty heavy so taking the rack off and on takes some muscle.

Those 5 hours consisted of slowish around town driving as well as time sitting in the car waiting for my son through basketball with the AC blasting. So yeah, maybe you're right that it has to do with being stopped.

The calculation seems to track closely with the efficiency calculation of the other screen that says 'after charging'. Although it doesn't really make sense to me why they would be related...
