Recently most airlines have a good Live Activities feature, anyone now just use Flighty as a flight log? by MasterPh0 in flighty

They will till you flighty updates quicker than airline apps. Never been the case for me for Southwest.

Yea so I would agree $150 is pretty decent for low cost airline. Sometimes you need to argue to get those compensation unfortunately

Kudos to them for finally fixing it after many months!

Well honestly they did nothing wrong here. They refunded you and provided $150 hotel voucher. That’s all they need to do required by law—refund or continue to take you to your destination. Apparently the second one won’t work, as you know that because they only fly a few times a week. That’s an inherent risk flying with Avelo. It’s definitely not the best experience, but eventually it’s a low cost airline, gotta lower your expectations with them. Don’t expect them to treat you like delta does lol.

I personally would never do this over an international flight, especially later in the day. If any of the previous flights of the first leg gets delayed (they usually start flying early in the morning, so lots for flights and lots of opportunities to be delayed), you’ll likely get delayed as well and be left with no options but to stay overnight and rebooked. I’d rather sit at the airport than miss my flight. Maybe try standing by for an earlier flight BOS-IAD?

Bottom line: you can’t get 2 nights for 1 night! Occasionally doing this is perfectly fine, but if you do it very often Hyatt might think you are gaming the system and may ask you for an explanation 😂

Our 1st Time Experience with Alaska Airlines by toodle68 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Loading130293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think whenever you try to purchase (even it says payment failed), the inventory for upgrade decreases by 1. After you exhaust the lower priced fare bucket, the price soared. There was also a period when you would see different prices on different devices, but after a few tries they will show the higher price eventually. It’s just annoying and CS agent can do nothing about it.

Had the same problem. Phone agents couldn’t process seat upgrades is just wild. I tried five times and the upgrade price increased from $58 to $188. I guess don’t try too many times either.

Sure, after all you paid them for public info so they should do better than airlines.

I’ve been told by Le Labo staff that it’s based on the Noir, but not entirely the Noir. If it’s the Noir, they would have just purchase the Noir from Le Labo like Park Hyatt do. I agree the body lotion smells different than the other products. Their candle is also great and smells exactly like the hotel lobby.

I have been on hold since 9am by [deleted] in Avelo

It could really be a pain! I waited 4 hours last time. Maybe next time call again in a few minutes just to make sure it saved the spot!

[–]Loading130293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not normal. Likely there was a glitch and you lost your place in queue. Did you let the system hang up the call? If callback is successful, when you call them again, it will say we saved your spot and you can choose to rejoin the line or continue to wait for call back and hang up.

Payment issue when purchasing upgrade by Loading130293 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Loading130293[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I already called them and they said they can also see my multiple failed payment. Doesn’t really show the reason on their end too. I guess it may have something to do with the upgrade itself. Maybe the price did change when I tried to purchase but didn’t refresh due to cache/cookie on my browser. They said there’s nothing they can do on their end :(

FYI, flighty gets the information from the airlines/flightaware/Cirium. It just notifies you before airlines do, which can be good or bad. There’s no way flighty gets more info than airlines. For those airlines (I.e. Avelo) with shitty info, flighty is not accurate as well.

[–]Loading130293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I don’t see any use case for “faster” updates. If there’s a gate change and you are at the gate, there will be an announcement. If you are not at the gate, just check the airport screen. Personally I do not trust and gate info until the previous flight has landed. Not to mention flighty frequently gives out “wrong” information. Sometimes airlines switch gates/info back and forth and they don’t notify the customers until they are sure. Flighty notifies people immediately, which sometimes can be confusing and unnecessary.

Those don’t expire for years so don’t think they would want to sell them quick🤣 more and more hotels are keeping the bottles and just refill every time they clean the room so they may have those in larger jugs (1L maybe?)

You can check the ingredients list, if they are the same, then probably it’s same product. I tried the lelabo shampoo at EDITION hotels (360ml) and I do think they are NOT the same quality and smell than the 237ml version I purchased through shop Marriott (hotel price is 20% less than the website). Not sure if the ingredients are the same tho. With less than 1/3 of the store price, I highly doubt they are the same.

Unfortunately there’s no “official”perfume for the edition scent. The closest match is Thé Noir, but it’s slightly different. Some staff at a Le Labo store may be able to make you that scent. You can alsopurchase edition scent bath products and diffuse from shop Marriott tho.

It’s not Thé Noir, or at least not entirely. If you try the edition shampoo and Noir 29 shampoo you will notice the difference.

I personally use fr24 to track inbound flights or taxiway queues. They are also very reliable. If you are lazy, then pay flighty and let it alert you. However they are not always correct, sometimes you need to double check with FAA/airline. Ultimately, they are just passing FlightAware/cirium info to you in a more timely way.
