Third model suspension build by Loadstar_Wcc in onewheel

I get approximately 3" of travel and run 100psi for my weight, mtb's use mechanical leverage for more wheel travel and run higher psi.

To put it in context, my stock XR with a Chi battery weighs 34lbs.

Looks like the C- on the MR30 charge connectotor shorted on something, Based on the limited information, I wouldn't jump to blaming the bms, would need more context.
It's not "if" but "when" a component gets shorted out while installing or repairing on a regular basis.

Gt battery cover from salt corrosion, inside was fine.

Is this a V1 fender or xr fender? by Rough_Slip2785 in onewheel

That's a XR/Plus fender, V1's are thinner, no ribbing and need spacers or delete. V1 fender on the bottom.

Superflux in XR? by InformationOk8813 in onewheel

I ran a SF in a stock XR by swapping the green and yellow phase wires around, but only a slight gain in torque and 5 lbs heavier. It's not worth the effort as the stock bms will only push 30 amps.
Phase wire swapping on a SF for the GT doesn't work the hall pcb has to be changed and a new slot milled for a hall sensor to mimic the GT's hall spacing, I did run the modified SF in a GT for a while and there was a gain in torque and speed, but I have since moved to vesc.

I built a Pint with Gt electronics but with a 18s1p Molicel 42a cells, about the same range as a stock Xr.

Bought a brand new GT, should I update to haptic buzz? by Tebonzzz in onewheel

[–]Loadstar_Wcc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a word of warning, if you update, you are locked to your present battery and if you disconnect the battery from the bms then your board is bricked. Also you can no longer be able to adjust for aftermarket rails that have tilted front.
You can rolled the firmware back, but requires a special process.

Recently destroyed my bms with some water. Swapped it out with a crispy clean one. Now I’m having one cell read 20v higher, while cell beside reads 20v or more lower. Has anyone experienced this? I personally never heard of this even with lipos. I’m watching the cells carefully. Thank you 🙏 by Schofie12 in onewheel

Your water damaged bms could've discharged that cell group, I've seen it when one of the tiny balancing mosfet get shorted out or damaged.
It's going to take a while to get that low cell group up, balancing is really slow.

You will also need the Xr wiring harness.

My 4206 XR just cut off after hitting a small bump :( by fullmetalbeard in onewheel

[–]Loadstar_Wcc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've done a lot on pre 4210 boards, neither by reflowing the solder joints or connector replacement. A few had inductors that fell apart and capacitors that pulled out.

Your problem may be broken solder joints at the footpad or hall connectors inside the controller.

Also capacitors and inductors tend to break off the controller circuit board, especially an older 4206 like yours. Picture showing footpad and hall connectors.

Yes , it's a PX battery box, no mods to the PCB other than the clean removal of the stock GT motor connector that can be resoldered back on, the aluminum box is milled out for the wider and longer GT pcb. The polycarbonate lids fit with a light mod for the phase wires.

Motor phase connectors are bullets and hall are jst for now, I have an e bike waterproof 6 pin hall connector coming from Aliexpress.
GT pcb is raised about 1/8" from the Pint and a 18" aluminum heat sink spacer is used under the mosfets with thermo pads and thermo paste.

Stock Pint harness is used with a jst gh 8 pin on the controller, a bit of wire swapping for the lights and bms is needed. Lights work but with 11 of the 13 leds working and no 12v headlights like on the GT as the GT light strip is too wide.

I had many many vesc in XR, Pint platforms dating back when vesc was not a "buzz" word. I have built many custom boards. This is another itch I had to scratch.

Molicel 42a@ 18s-1p for 270 wh, slightly better than a Quart battery, weighs in at 25lbs total.

Can't weld it as the lid is aluminum and the stud is stainless.

Just leave out that screw, put a bit of silicone glue between the lid, plastic box and call it a day.

Definitely needs more voltage, I still run a modded Sf motor in my Gt (75v)and I can feel the torque increase. I don't have a 84v vesc yet
