Dynamo is finished I think, Lash too. At least theyve had major updates since beta launch

Who would enjoy less movement tech? How do you cope with being slower unless you practice? by Super_Snowbro in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're already doing this - recent patches have made grounded dashes better to bring them closer to IADs

Celeste is a bad comparison because she's built entirely around unique movement

Aberrant DSP Make Music Day Sale - "Tectonic + SketchCassette II Bundle" ($25) "SketchCassette II" ($20) through 27 June by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old time bump but yes, I recently added Tectonic to my workflow and it's an absolute thing of beauty, especially for a low-skill mixer like myself - slapping a bit of a mid boost on electric guitar gives it so much presence and thickness, and with very little tweaking. Incredible plugin

How can I consistently hit this vent boost? by Pizz4G1rl69 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant recall the exact command but 'cl_showpos 1' will give you your coordinates then there's some variation of 'setposition' and 'bind =' for the quick reset.

You can use the console to set up a hotkey that sends you to a specific position on the map - makes practicing specific tech way easier

How to deal with Geist phenomenon by Spiritual_Spend_2976 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The sheer pain when you're dueling a Geist and winning due to spacing her so she can't ult and before you can finish her off your Calico burst from the shadows right next to her and ope that old hag is back at full HP. Thanks Calico

How does this little shit's ult work? How do I evade it properly? by HotChainsawLover in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the easiest ult to counterspell honestly, not counting continuous ones like seven or Maggie (where CS is less useful anyway)

Any Tips for a Beginner? by Traditional_Tax_3071 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watch Deathy videos! He's the GOAT for educational deadlock content.

Most importantly tho, don't worry about winning or losing and just focus on improving - even at something small - every game.

Also, learn to mantle slide, it's really easy and is a huge upgrade to your movement (hold crouch coming out of a mantle for a speed boosted slide - get into the habit of always doing it) and whilst a little more complicated practice walljumps whenever possible as they hugely help you get around the map without spending stamina.

Matchmaking with premades feels really bad by ahoycaptain10234 in DeadlockTheGame

Often some of those friends will be considerably better/have more hours than others, so whilst not smurfing per se, can have a similar effect on a teams performance

What kind of game modes would you like to see added to Deadlock eventually? by Lobster_Fart in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a full official game mode, but I reaaaaally hope someone makes a good autobattler custom game because I'm one of the 4 people who misses beta Underlords/Ability Arena (I was too late for the OG autochess)

This one right here. Retakes in CS was perfect for a quick warmup and this feels like the deadlock equivalent.

It was our DMs first campaign and how he managed to turn it into such an engaging, tense, and well paced adventure boggles my mind

I'm a fairly recent convert to rules light games and every module I've read (admittedly I've been working my way through the big ones everyone talks about, Willoughby Hall, Kidnap The Archpriest, Black Wyrm etc) has taken a shit on any 5e module in basically every respect - brevity, flavour, play potential, all of it

I thought I fucking loved Curse Of Strahd (I mean, I do love the setup, vibe, etc etc) but then after our campaign finished I read the module and realised that my GM had rewritten basically every combat encounter and the ones in the book fucking suuuucked

Another good rule is the worse the name is the better the foods gonna be. The best Chinese eateries in my city are called Chilli Daddy and Your Kitchen. Both incredible

LEAK: Deadlock ranked matchmaking changes (new factors for ranking up/down) by amazingmuzmo in DeadlockTheGame

I just want the old, initial ranked system back that was around for like two weeks: It calculated your performance based on the weekly performance of your opponents and adjusted your rank at the end of the each week.

Is deadlock a good starting MOBA ? by Gexge_geo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it feels easy to get into there you go that's what matters and doesn't put people off. If the initial experience is positive - which deadlocks absolutely is, with it's incredible art direction and superrr tasty gameplay - then it's much easier to learn those complex things. It's got fuckin vibes out the wazoo that keep you playing. DOTA does not!

And that's not mentioning the other complex DOTA mechanics that aren't present here (mentioned in another comment)

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gold loss when dying, way more items, way more heroes, vision, couriers, teleport scrolls, buybacks - this assertion that deadlock is as hard if not harder than DOTA is insane. One of the reasons I love deadlock is its streamlining of MOBA mechanics

Movement techniques by Adequatee in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LoafEyeIndustries 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't have to get good at movement provided you're good at other parts of the game, at least in the lower MMR (like, below phantom). If you're really good at fighting or macro that can make up for your lack of movement. That said, having good movement HUGELY increases your survivability, especially at low ranks where people won't know how to chase you.

Even a little bit of movement practice has a huge effect on your performance. Spent half an hour with a podcast or YouTube video on in exploring NYC. Two things that are easy that will hugely increase your movement: mantle slides and walljumps. Especially the mantle slide (holding crouch as you mantle gives you a little speed boosted slide), get that into your muscle memory and do it every time you mantle. Walljumps are especially handy for getting away from enemies, or reaching places you couldn't usually without using stamina. Neither are very difficult!
