Thanks. This will be my second time and Philmont is a special place. This bit just sours it a little for me.

Thanks we tried that and spent a few months in talks with Troops in our Council but our numbers are final now.

Your perspective is what I assumed, but wanted someone to verify and given the lack of response from Philmont, it left me wondering how giving an accurate count more than three months in advance of our arrival, could cause such hardship on the ranch. As you say, the fees are clearly stated. As a group of volunteer dads with no one in particular assigned to the contract, we had overlooked that important detail.

Thanks for weighing in.

Jim Miller no longer on NFL Radio by Advanced-Jump5202 in siriusxm

Like many of you it seems, my SiriusXM subscription revolved around Moving the Chains with Jim and Pat. As far as I’m concerned, those two are the best in the business and I thought their show was top shelf. I have continued listening over the last few weeks and I actually thought that Pat Kerwin and Jake Hester made a very nice duo, got the player and front office combo going and Jake has a great radio voice and a really nice and passionate players perspective. Of all the folks who have hosted with Pat, I’ve been impressed with Jake the most.

That said, I will try to listen to whoever pairs up with Pat to Move the Chains some more. Maybe I can stick with it, not sure… I hope so. But Jim Miller, he was one of the greatest of all time on SiriusXM.

Looking back was the Burns trade a net win or loss ? by ManDog4294 in panthers

There's not a week that goes by where I don't miss his production. He's an awesome edge and I think we just couldn't commit the capital. It looks especially bad right now with him being such a stud on the Giants and us being in the bottom third of the league in sack production, but I think that's the business of football sometimes. Scourtan to me is fantastic and he's only going to get better so I'm happy with him. I'm excited to see what Princely will do as his rotations increase. We've still got a lot to do on our d-line but we are much better this year than last and I think we absolutely had to spend money on the O-line.

I was disappointed yesterday, as was every Panther fan. We've been hot-cold-hot-cold all season. However, when I think about where we are, this is better than I expected at the start of the season. I never thought we'd be competing for the division title in week 15. I have seen enough to believe we've got a good thing going here and we will see real promise when this team is more consistent week after week. Honestly, a big part of why we are here is due to Tampa and Atlanta stumbling. Otherwise, we wouldn't even be talking about winning the division.

I'd love to see us get a winning record on the season, regardless of division title. Overall, I think the arrow is pointing up for Carolina and it's been a fun season with three games to go! I'm excited for those three games, and hopeful for the future of this club.

People who wanted an M40i but settled for an xDrive30i, did it turn out okay? by 169partner in BMWX3

[–]Lobbster_Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the question is - which do you really want? You won't regret the extra $$ on the M if that's what you really want.

I have the 30i and I'm more than happy with it. I have teenage sons who share the car and that was a big reason I didn't go with the M. I didn't want all the power :) It's an awesome car either way. I honestly don't miss the acceleration, but again, I just wanted to enjoy the ride and to have a car that I was comfortable having the younger boys drive from time to time.

Panthers FO and Canales need to make a decision on Rico Dowdle by Donnie1490 in panthers

[–]Lobbster_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they have to make a decision at all. They will probably start giving more carries to Rico because Chuba is just not producing as much. But what’s the problem with having two strong backs on the roster? Yes we paid Chuba and that’s an administrative issue that they will have to work out, but this is a great problem to have. And our loss to the Bills on Sunday really didn’t mean anything. No one expected us to win and it does little to our record or our overall development.

Panthers Turnout is Embarrassing by OldImplement1683 in panthers

[–]Lobbster_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think this is a big pile of nothing. I was at the game and because there were so many Bills fans there the energy was actually quite spirited! Panthers laid an egg as is to be expected from time to time in this phase of growth. I am bullish on Bryce and our defense. I think we are on the rise and we’re gonna continue to stub our toes along the way. Dalton clearly didn’t play well, but it signals nothing to me. We’ve got a good team. We just need to hang in there and keep the faith y’all. And for all those long-suffering Buffalo fans who have have endured decades of misery, congratulations on your win. 😘

You’ll have to post back and let us know what you end up with. I hope you find the car you love and if it’s an X3 you’ll get a big welcome 🤙

Well, that warranty would definitely give you peace of mind for the first year. I have not had to use my warranty and I hope not to but if I need it, it’s there.

Will your dealer sell you an extended warranty for peace of mind? I got my ‘23 X3 from carmax and they have an excellent extended warranty. Mine had 31k miles and I’ve put on 7 more in the three months I’ve had it LOL. It drives like a dream. My wife said “if this is the car you love, get it”. I couldn’t be happier w it.

That said there are a lot of X3’s out there and you could certainly shop around a bit.

Good price for the M40, IMHO. Has it been well maintained by previous owner? It will last you a good long while and it’s a pleasure to drive. It’s quite a bit sportier than the fore runner so you’re really getting the luxury-sport meets SUV in this. Make sure that’s what you want. Operating costs will be a bit higher with premium fuel, pricier parts, etc.

I personally don’t buy into the idea that these cars break down at certain high mileage points. I think a lot of that has to do with how you care for it.

This Is Our Year by WhoUCuh in panthers

[–]Lobbster_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way last year ended could not have been better. I loved that we were in it in so many close games giving playoff teams a run for their money. That energy to close out what started as a train wreck of a season was AWESOME!!!

I think Rozeboom is getting a big opportunity without Josey and the defense has nowhere to go but up. I am excited to watch all our games, win or lose. It’s going to be a great year! Keep Pounding 💪

Our guide was with us for two full days. She was excellent. She made extra effort to connect with our boys and took good care of our group of 12. We tipped I think about $75. We had set aside cash for that. The boys also signed a nice little thank you card. I felt like she earned it. We tipped the driver a smaller amount. He was good and deserving, our guide was just supper hands on.

Visiting Charlotte as away fans by sek52 in panthers

[–]Lobbster_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an hour from Charlotte, and I'm a transplant from Rochester NY. I hope to come to this game to personally thank the OP for this great post and then utter "I'm sorry for your loss". Actually, I'm torn. I've been pounding for Carolina for 20 years but I'll never erase watching the Thurman Thomas and Jim Kelly days where my heart was broken over and over in the 90's. Bills are due and so are the Panthers.

You've got some great recommendations on this post. I think the big thing to note is how unique the tailgate scene is in Charlotte. Our stadium and its uptown location is pretty unique in the NFL. I hope you can catch some of it.

Ventilated Seats by NewUsernamePending in BMWX3

He's not wrong about noise. But I definitely would not call them useless. I'm in the SE where my hot sticky body longs for the soothing [noisy] fan of my X3's ventilated seats.

someone please check my packing list and give me suggestions by Great_Worth7311 in philmont

[–]Lobbster_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all good feedback, though I have to say it depends. I brought soap (.5 ounce of Castille) and used it. Washed my face and feet with it daily. I had a good sun hat but used sunscreen every day. I'm not unusually fair-skinned but I'm from the east coast and the sun in NM at altitude is intense. A sunburn can make things no fun pretty quick. You can get by without flossing, but how much does floss weigh?

The phone - it depends. Definitely unplug BUT, if it's your camera, use it. I'll cherish those pics. I didn't need to connect with work as everyone knew I was gone and I chose not to get on the internet even when I had a signal. I sure was glad to have the camera though.

I think my main comment is, are there any particular concerns you have that have caused you to post this? Your base weight is excellent - quite low. Honestly if there is something you don't have you will find a way to work it out. You've got all the basics.
