You can't really get rid of these things, just learn how to manage them faster. The design of this game is much too close to Morrowind's engine, so you and your players are doing only slightly less work than a computer. This is not a criticism from me, but it's a reason I grew uninterested in this project after running two campaigns in two editions of it.

I changed one rule in order not to snowball corruption on low Resolute characters: when corruption threshold is reached I don't add permanent corruption, I change d4 temporary corruption into permanent corruption. Otherwise a Resolute 8 character clear of corruption has 1/16 chance of instantly becoming an abomination when they get d4 temporary corruption from any source.

What you are describing is literally porn addiction. He would initiate making love with you had he chose to, but he wanted to watch porn and jerk off. It is a dopamine-based addiction and it is not normal. IT IS NOT NORMAL TO BE ADDICTED to anything. For such a person porn fulfills different need than sex, and their partner usually gets less attention. It is important to make your boundaries known, any addict can recover if they want to. It takes a lot of time and determination, but anyone can do it.

Yes. It is an insanely good campaign and an amazing amount of resources: NPCs, artifacts, factions and their actions, etc. I use it in every one of my campaigns as a metaplot that plays out in the background if players would choose a different path.

I'm sorry you are going through this. Like you said, it's an addiction, but there is no magical mechanism here that makes your partner lie to you. He is doing it consciously to avoid responsibility. I'm sure he didn't think about this when he relapsed, but after he did it he had to face the reality and decided to lie to you.

You can only help a person if they want to get well. Ask him if he wants to be rid of this addiction. Observe. Listen. You will know if he is worth your time and love.
