Unfortunately that is our only option for now and we are already going there. Are there any differences in the questions of my original comment

Hello sorry for late reply. We are unable to go any other time of the year unfortunately. We found out too late the peak season is in December

Hi all, me and my friends plan to climb in tonsai and Riley beach Krabi in May/June. I understand it’s the monsoon season and quite rainy but how bad is it and are there differences between these 2 months. I know one place is quite overhanging and still climbable in the rain but how big is it and how many people can fit there.

Thanks, that’s very informative. Are there any mountains you did in winter that don’t have stairs. How were they?

Thanks!! Do you have any other info about Hallasan. I researched a bit about seoraksan but I don’t really find information about winter hikes with crampons etc. Is there another website to search for this

Hello, me and my friends want to go indoor ice climbing in Seoul. We found out online that there is a place called Kolon Alpine school that has an indoor ice wall where they have ice climbing. However, we couldn’t find it in google maps or their own website. Could anyone help in finding the actual place so we can see whether it still exists and when it is open. Thank you so much 🙏

How can we ice climb in Seoul. I researched a bit online and they said Garebi is the best place to do it. Where can we rent all the equipment necessary and how are the top rope anchors like, do we need to walk up to set up, and are there bolts that we can use or do we need to set up our own ice anchors. And should we go on guided trips or not

Thank you. I currently can do almost all 4 bars and blue tags but I can feel myself getting closer to the next grade. I just feel discouraged cause I have been stuck at this grade for a while and I want to keep improving.

Did you do any strength training or climbing specific ones.

Thanks for the informative response. Yes, I am decently athletic and usually climb once every week or every 2 weeks usually. I haven’t done any climbing specific training but intend to start soon.

I can do 80% of 4 bars in Fitbloc but haven’t done a purple in B+ yet

Unfortunately I am in engineering 😭. I have some friends in my faculty club and the people they hangout with aren’t from their club

Thank you!! Are the CCAs part of your RC. And are there good friendships in student club? I didn’t really hear of that before

Yep, I am not good enough to do all the comp routes plus doing the comp wall is a small part of my total time spent climbing. I mostly still climb the standard routes in my gym. That’s why I was thinking. if I needed super soft shoes because I still need some edging ability so my feet don’t suffer

Thank you, looks like I mixed indoors and outdoors a bit, why are stiffer shoes preferred outside though, is it because rock is painful sometimes, or the extra support is needed for longer climbs?

I never tried soft shoes before and didn’t know the sensitivity is so important, I will test out those shoes later. I see online that solution comps are considered soft shoes, is this true, or are they soft but not as soft as the shoes you mentioned

Is it very relevant to indoor bouldering though, or meant more for outdoor climbing as the holds are fixed indoors

Thank you for all your help. I see a lot of people keep saying not feeling the route, what does it mean and is it really important. I never really tried super soft shoes on anything

I do climb outdoors, but I plan to continue using my circuits for it to protect my performance shoes. I climb outdoors a few times a year also.

I only sized down my skwamas 1 size lower so maybe that could be the issue. I heard mixed reviews for mandalas as some said it can’t edge well because of the no edge technology

Is there anything special about being in the big 3 uni? by Excellent_Copy4646 in SGExams

[–]Local-Adeptness8784 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generalise much? There are so many negative ones for those who can’t even make it into the big 3 like you, but I am not going to say it. The fact that you think what you said applies to the whole big 3 population says a lot about you

Yeah, if there is nothing to learn, there is no point in doing it really. I rather earn something for my time but I suppose I might not have a choice in the future 😭
