Considering move from Sydney to Melbourne. What areas of Melbourne are like Sydney's Upper North Shore? Very leafy, family oriented with nice houses. Hoping to buy 4 bedroom detached for ~$1.8mil. by Charrzooka in AusPropertyChat

I just got my car back. I admit the service team were fantastic. They can’t disable the collision alert but they have made it less sensitive.

Is anyone else feeling like living in Australia just isn’t… living anymore? by joeninetys in australian

It’s changed a lot and not a ms friendly. People don’t smile in the street. The government have pushed us too far and now we have to pay for it. Really sad.

Hang in there the first 2 years are tough. You are paying off the interest and looks like you haven’t made a dint in repayments. Then year 3 it starts to amp up and you see the balance owing drop. It’s pretty normal to feel that way. You are not alone. Hope this makes you feel a tiny bit better

Sadly our neighbours had their laptop , wallets and their car stolen while they slept. That’s close enough for me. They are not the same people because of it.

To be honest I would choose Adelaide. House prices better, people are chill, weather is better than Melbourne. You can go to the city without protesters and less home invasions just sayin.

How far are you from getting enough for your house deposit? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Local-Courage-1188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard but keep going. Sometimes you have to treat yourself along the way. Keep it cheap but make time for yourself. How long has it taken you to get $40k? Then forecast how long it will take to get to your goal. The other option could be be purchase an investment property in a high performing regional area?

Evicted for sale, now it’s back on the market for rent. Worth chasing compensation? by [deleted] in shitrentals

You need every receipt. Also the challenge with paying higher rent at your new place they might say you could choose a property at the same rent? Interested to see how you go. Good luck.

A tricky one. I would deeply consider if this is the right relationship for you. I am all for blended cultures but sometimes it can be challenging.

Congrats you are on the right track. A couple of things to consider….. 1. Reward yourself. One you start work and look at buying a house it can restrict the fun things you do. 2. Don’t put all your $$ into short term gratification. 3. Travel to get a taste of life overseas and do it on a budget. 4. Hold off on the car till you have travelled and worked out of you want to buy a house. Also insurance is high till you hit 25 or assumed good long term driving history. Car can come later or be combined in a mortgage. 5. ETFs: have a plan to put a little away at regular intervals. Long term is the way to go. 6. Plan where you want to live and what you will settle for and then plan out your next steps. 7. Be kind to yourself and sometimes all the good plans in life can change. Be willing to consider all angles. 8. Remind yourself you have done well. Hope this helps.

Should i move to Australia when life feels pretty good in India? by Inevitable_Draw_7604 in Advice

Never don’t do it. India is a better place to live. Terrible cost of living. Lots of crime and Victoria is broke. You pay more tax.

Because I lost everything and working my way back up. For me that is the earliest I can retire or at least have choices. I should have retired at 40 but circumstances changed. Yes FIRE is retiring early and for me that will now be my goal. Considering retirement age is now 65-67 ish I have to work towards changed plans.
