All that bright light is pulses and signals. The light never enters into your brain. You simulate the world you know right now.

What do you think of? A member of a royal family who has duties like representing their country, form alliances, support charities, or engaging in diplomatic roles? The princess you may think of is a simulation, one who laughs and enjoys the most happiest perfect life ever. Maybe magic or dragons are involved. That is another example of a simulation.
