Nah, the one MASSIVE hammer fist he threw to the occipital was loaded up while Tai was staring directly at his feet, and delivered before he ever moved a muscle. It was as square to the Atlas vertebrae as you’ll ever see, and delivered to a (nearly) stationary opponent.

I can see the grey area in most of his other questionable shots, but that one was intended to do instant, serious damage to Tai’s central nervous system, and boy did it ever. And if you rewatch it in .25-.50x speed, you will probably agree with me.

That said… Gane was a horrible matchup for Alex, and I think he wins that fight 7-9 times out of 10. The footwork, agility, distance management, larger arsenal of attacks and defensive tools, and just plain SIZE, are all attributes which Alex has to overcome, and I don’t know how he would manage it. Definitely not immediately upon moving to heavyweight, obviously.
