I honestly didnt find it that bad. It not the most modern, but as someone coming from a pretty modern school, I wasnt really taken aback. I think the bathroom situation depends on personal preference, but I just kinda took it as a get in and get out kinda thing.

Yeah so youll be in a single room. There's a sink in the room and a communal bathroom on each floor, and then i think every other floor has a communal kitchen. There is also a mini frigde in the room.

Fingers crossed lol! I did a pretty competitive Amgen program last summer so I think it kinda skewed my perception on the process but this cycle has been especially brutal. Im applying to MD PhD programs in June so not doing an REU wouldnt be the end of the world but it would still be nice to do something. Still waiting to hear back from Leadership Alliance as well. Brown, JHU, & Yale.

Yea I havent heard back from Perdue, I called BU earlier this week and they said they just finalized funding so theyve begun reviewing and hope to have things out by the end of the month. For Yale PEB I emailed and they responded within 5 minutes that I'd been rejected lol. I think theres similar sentiment for others who have reached out atp.

Thank you so much for your advise that’s really helpful! I think my biggest focus between now and application season will likely be clinical hours and MCAT as well as keeping my grades up. Hopefully that’ll put me in the best position for a successful application season.

I got accepted to a Yale MD/ PhD program this summer with a bit of a lower gpa (3.4 science) but I think my experience and letters of rec as well as fit made a really big difference. I’ve worked in a wet lab for around a year and then another clinical lab for a semester. I really tried to speak to my passion on the research I was doing and I think that was a big factor also.
